An NGO field staff was drown in a pond at Kochua Upazila of the district on Thursday .
The deceased was identified as Forhad Hossain, 32, a field staff of PAGE-an NGO at Sachar area in Kochua Upazila and a resident of Chapitola in Muradnagar Upazila of Cumilla.
Contacted, the NGO- PAGE Development Centre’s Manager at Sachar area Md Mobinul Islam told this correspondent that like other days, Forhad went out to have bath in the nearby pond at 10 am in the morning. But as he was not coming back after his bath even though a long time elapsed, then all of his colleagues became worried and went out to search for him. Their frantic search also failed. At noon, his body was found floating in the same pond. At once, he was rescued and rushed to Kochua Health Complex where the on duty doctor declared him dead.
