A newspaper hawker was crushed under the wheels of a passengers, bus in the city’s Tikatuli area on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Aynal Haque, 35, a resident of Nakhalpara in Tejgaon area.
A local bus hit Aynal from behind when he was riding on his bicycle in
front of Ittefaq crossing at around 9:30am, leaving him injured, said Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia, also In-Charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost.
He was rushed to the DMCH in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries around 10:00am, the SI said.
Police seized the bus while the driver managed to flee the scene, he said.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue, the SI added.
