National Fisheries Week observed in Gopalganj

The National Fisheries Week was observed in a befitting manner in Gopalganj recently. National Fisheries Week Observation Committee , Gopalganj organised the week long -programme. On the occasion , they brought out a colorfull rally and paraded it the main road in the city. Local fisherman, political parties, high officials of the district administration, different NGOs and local elite participated in the rally. After rally they released fish fries in upazila parished pond and then a discussion meeting was held at Upazila parished auditorium in Gopalganj . Md. Khalilur Rahman,DC & S.M Imran Hossain, SP, Gopalganj, Chowdhury Emdadul Haque, President District, Awami League, Gopalganj spoke as the chief and special guests respectively. Md. Shamim Haider, District Fisheries Officer, Gopalganj presided over the meeting. Among others, Sheikh Ruhul Amin, Vie president District AL, Gopalganj. Babul Krishana Ojha, Upazila fisheries officer, Gopalganj Sadar, Bibakananda Biswas, Successful fisherman, Gopalganj Sadar & Subrata Kumar Bain, another Successful fisherman, Tungipara Upazila, also spoken on the occasion.
RU student jailed for proxy in recruitment test

A mobile court magistrate of Rajshahi sentenced a Rajshahi University (RU) student to fifteen days imprisonment for giving proxy in the recruitment test of Rajshahi Education Board Model School & College, for the post of computer operator recently. The convict was identified as Shafiqul Islam, a masters result candidate of Social Work Department at RU. Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) spokesman and asst commissioner Iftekhar Alam told the newsmen that an invigilator caught Shafiqul red handed for giving proxy for another candidate. Later, he was produced before the mobile court of executive magistrate.

A mobile court in a drive fined 50 thousand taka one Tobacco manufactured and distributor to sale and preserved without warning in Kishoreganj on Sunday. The mobile court led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) and Executive Magistrate Tarafder Md. Akther Jamil conducted the drive at the Dilip Biri Factory find Tk. 50 thousand at Katiadi Upazila under Kishoreganj district.
