Bangladesh Student Union (BSU) of JU unit has condemned the threat against TV correspondent on Monday . A press release signed by the president of JU BSU Dipanjan Shiddhanta Kajol and Secretary Abid Sarkar Shohag said it here. Protesting the incident of BCL attack on journalist Shafiqul Islam, JU reporter of bdnews24.com, the Department of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS) arranged a human chain programme on Thursday at Central Shaheed Minar premises but 71tv broadcast it as a human chain of protesting the attack on Christian area, according to the press release. On this incident, the daily Prothom Alo JU correspondent Russel Ruubbii and Daily Bangladesh Pratidin JU reporter Shariful Islam, also both students of JMS department condemned the news and post on social media against the report. But the savar reporter of 71tv also General Secretary of Savar Press club concern it and threaten the both journalist and also post on social media with mentioning Russel Rubbii as an agent of drug business, it added.
Intern- doctors postpone strike at SBMCH

Intern doctors of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital postponed their strike on Tuesday afternoon.Dr. Abir Sakran, leader of intern doctors, said they postponed their strike till Wednesday afternoon for holding meeting of their association. Dr. S M Sirajul Islam, director SBMCH, acknowledging the facts said intern doctors postponing their strike joined in their duty from 2:00 PM Tuesday. It was happened after a tri-party meeting held between the police, hospital administration and intern doctors on Tuesday noon. The strike was started from Saturday afternoon protesting alleged assaulting a female intern by a police official and demanding apology from the accused. After the incident Patuakhali police administration closed accused Sub Inspector Manoj Kumar of Mirzaganj police station to Patuakhali district police line and started investigation procedure on Sunday.
170 people arrested in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj district police arrested more than 170 people so far in four last consecutive days following a nation-wide crackdown on militants. The drive was launched after a series of murders targeting innocent people, secular activists and minorities in 13 upazilas of the district.Police Super Md. Anower Hossain Khan said that, police are not doing any arrest business. We are closely monitoring the drive. Most of them were arrested in regular cases. They were also sent to court.
Call to ensure consumers’ rights in Narsingdi

An awareness meeting for ensuring the rights of consumers was held at Sadar Upazila parishad conference room here on Monday. Deputy Commissioner, Narsingdi, Abu Hena Morshed Zaman addressed the meeting as chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) khandaker Nural Hoque in the chair. Chairman of Sadar Upazila parishad Monzur Elahi also addressed the meeting as special guest.
Assistant Director Consumers Rights, Narsingdi, Rahan Quaddus delivered the welcome speech. Among others, Chairmen of Shibpur Upazila parishad Ariful Islam Mirdha, President Chamber of Commerce Abdullah- al Mamun, President Narsingdi pressclub Morshed Shahariar, Secretary Shofiqul Islam Manik addressed the meeting. Speakers in the meeting said there is no alternative to launching a social movement for ensuring consumers rights. They Said, the markets has been flooded with formalin and carbide mixed fruits, fish and other food items. They also said collective efforts of all authorities concerned including media were very important for stopping adulteration in food items. Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman said a comprehensive efforts of all is very essential for ensuring the consumers rights and that to build a middle income Bangladesh free from all corruption.
