Scouts gathering ends in Narsingdi

The five -day long 13th scouts gathering organised by Narsingdi District Scouts concluded here at Bhatpara NC Gupta High School ground, Pantchdona,Narsingdi through camp firing with enthusiasm Monday evening. Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi and President of District Scouts Abu Hena Morshed Zaman addressed the function as Chief Guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) of the district and the chief of gathering Khandaker Nurul Hoque in the chair. Zila Ansars Commander Narsingdi Shah Ahmed Fazley Rabbi and sponser of the Scout gathering Shoraj Kumar Shaha addressed the function as special guests. Among others, Nirbahi officer of Polash Upazila Mahmuda Aktar, District Education Officer Kazi Manowar Hossain, Jatiya Scout Co-Commissioner Farvaj Khan, Scout Commissioner of Narsingdi Sha Alam also spoke. A total of 825 scouts and girls guides (800 Boy scouts and 125 Girls guide) from 83 schools in the six upazilas of the district took part in the five day long scouts gathering. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the president of district Scouts Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in his speech said scouts and girl guides considered to be the noblest of the virtues. A scout and girl guide must be honest, discipline and punctual.  
National Edn Week observed
A week long programme sponsored by the District Education Department to mark the National Education week 2016 concluded here Sunday. The programme included selection of best teachers of school, college and madrasha. Best educational institution if the district, discussion meeting, cultural and literary competition for the students. A discussion meeting on the development of education was held at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on may 14 with District Education officer Manowar Hossain in the chair Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman addressed the meeting as chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Jashim Uddin Haidar was addressed as special guest. A good number of Principal, Headmaster and assistant teachers of the college and schools of the district participated in the discussion.
Two auto-rickshaw garages fined , huge electricity meters seized

A mobile court in Barisal on Tuesday fined two auto-rickshaw garages Tk 1.2 lakhs and seized 8 electric and 52 charging meters for doing electricity charging business by using electric supply connections illegally. Shafikul Islam, Administrative Magistrate led the drive at College Avenue area of the city.Soyebur Rahman, assistant engineer at Barisal division-1 of West Zone Power Distribution Company, said Shafikul Islam Babul, son of Abdur Razzak and Mohammad Sohel, son of Bahadur Mia, of the area tempering electric supply meters by breaking top of those charging battery operated autorickshaws at their garages since last one year. They using their electricity connections illegally and avoiding bills doing business of charging the battery operated vehicles. On basis of that information WZPDCO seeking help from administration operated drives of mobile court led by magistrate. Then the mobile court fined garage of Babul Tk. 60 thousand and seized 5 electricity supply meters and 32 charging meters from there.
