Student killed in Jessore road accident

A student was killed in a road accident on Jessore- Narail Highway near Reza Bricks on Monday morning. He attended SSC examination this year. The victim was identified as Yeamin Hossain (17) son of Mosharef Hossain of Darazhat Village under Bagherpara Upazila. Mosharef Hossain,Father of the dead, said the newsmen that Yeamin was going to the direction of Narail by a motor bike when the bike hit a tree at Dattorasta near Reza Bricks. They recovered the body of Yeamin from there. SI Pannu Fakir of Bagharpara Thana confirmed the information. He added that the body was taken by the family members of Yeamin before police reached the spot. They are not interested to file a case or to make autopsy of his body.
Job Fair, Placement seminar held

A Job Fair and Placement Seminar organised by Rangpur Polytechnic Institute was held at its auditorium on Saturday. Divisional Commissioner, Rangpur Kazi Hasan Ahmed addressed the seminar as chief guest while Chairman of Bangladesh Technical Education Board Ashok Kumar Biswas was in the chair. Among others Director of Skill and Training Enhancement Project Additional Secretary Md. Imran, Senior Operational officer of World Bank Mokhlesur Rahman and Principal of Rangpur Polytechnic Syed Nurunnabi also spoke on the occasion. The speakers said that there is no alternative to technical education to make the country economically self-sufficient. A total of 21 diploma engineers were given job appointment in the fair while around 200 were given job assurance during the fair.
15 hurt in pre-polls violence

At least 15 people were injured in two separate clashes of two Union Parishads (UPs) in Jhenaidah on Sunday. Locals said, at least five people were hurt in a clash between supporters of two ward member aspirants at Bara Kamarkundu village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila ahead of the Kalicharanpur UP election. The clash broke out when the two member candidates, Iqbal Hossain and Saidul Islam were conducting their election campaign in the morning in same area. When both the two groups arrived Bara Kamarkundu village, the supporters of the member candidates locked in an altercation around 8am, leaving five people injured. In the night of Saturday, a clash broke out between the followers of Awami League-backed chairman candidate Kabir Hossain KB and incumbent chairman, also the AL rebel candidate Rabiul Islam Rabi, of Naldanga UP in the upazila.
Child raped in Boraigram

A child Husneara (3) was raped by a young boy Mirza Ali (17) on Sunday in Boraigram upazila of Natore . Mirza Ali was firstly arrested by local people and then handed over to thana-police. Husneara is a daughter of Ali Ahsan of the village Moukhara of Boraigram upazila under Natore district. Mirza Ali of the same village called and took her to his bed-room. He then raped her.
