Drug trader jailed for 6 months in Gazipur

 A mobile court jailed a female drug trader for six-months impresentment on Sunday. Magistrate of mobile court and UNO Sreepur Aziz Haider Bhuyan announced the verdict against Rashida Khatun,35, wife of Alamgir Hossain of Kewa Pashchim Khanda (Darger Chala) under Sreepur Paurasabha of the district . Sub Inspector Mahabul Islam of Sreepur model police station said, on receipt secret information police raided the house and sized three packet Herion and two pieces Yaba tablet and arrested Rashida . Later, Rashida was produced before a mobile court and the court sentenced Rashida six-month prisons on the charge of selling drug.

Fire at Fakir Apparels in N’ganj

A huge quantity of Printing Fabric, Machinery and accessories were damaged when fire broke out in an Export Oriented Garments Factory of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) at Panchobati under Fatullah Police Station on Monday morning which left three person injured. Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense sources said, The Flame of fire originated from Tin shed printing and dyeing section of the garment factory Fakir Apparels Ltd. at 10.15 am. Four fire fighting engines of Haziganj and Narayanganj brought the blazing of fire under control within an hour of the incident. The sources said, Three garment workers sustained injures while extinguishing the fire.

UP member injured in hands of his opponents

Md. Zafar Iqbal, a UP member of Rajnagar Union Parishad under Rampal Upazila in the district was seriously injured when he was attacked by his opponents at Rishipara area of the union of Monday at 9 am. Being informed of the matter police visited the place of occurrence on the same day. It is learnt from the locals that in the morning when he reached the place of occurrence his opponents found him alone and attacked him from his behind all on a sudden. Then the attackers beat him mercilessly with lethal weapons, hammers and iron rods. As a result, the UP member sustained severe injuries on his person and one of his hands was broken.

Fire breaks out at labor colony in Ashulia

A fire broke out at a labor colony of chitroshail area of Ashulia on Monday noon around 12 p.m. with flames breaking out at a slum gutting 14 rooms. Source said, a fire broke out at a rental colony of Jakir mirdha and it spread immediately and burnt 14 rooms of the colony. Owner said about 10 lakh tk goods has damaged in this incident. At the time residents were at their working place. On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames after an effort of about 2 hours. Abdul hamid, senior officer of DEPZ Fire Service and Civil Defense told, 14 houses were gutted in the fire, which originated from an electric short circuit.

Deer killed in Srimangal

Unknown miscreants killed a deer in the Sindurkhan area under Srimangal Upazila of the district on Saturday. According to the case, the miscreants killed when the entered deer into the Hugli area under Sindurkhan Union from lawacherra forest. On the secret news forest Department raid Hugli area and recovered the deer dead body. It is height 2 feet 12 inches. Contacted, Mahbubul Alom, Divisional Forest Officer (wildlife) confirmed the matter to the New Nation. 3 held with arms in Rajbari, Faridpur

Rapid Action Battalion in separate drives arrested three people along with arms and ammunition in Rajbari and Faridpur districts on Monday. In Rajbari, Abul Bashar Mia, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station, said police arrested an alleged member of an outlawed party along with a shutter gun and three rounds of bullet from a Mahogany orchard in Panghsa upazila on Monday. In Faridpur, members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested two suspected criminals along with arms and bullets from Boropaturia in Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari district on Monday.
The arrestees were identified as Alamgir Hossain Mondol, 48, and Arjoo Sheikh, 22, both hailing from Sripur in Magra district. Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-8 team conducted drive in the area and arrested the duo along with a shutter gun and some rounds of bullet on Monday evening. A case has been filed in this connection under the Arms Act.
