6 held on different charges in Dupchanchia

Dupchanchia thana police arrested five gamblers and one warrant based defendant from Titlapukur area of Gobindapur union under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogra district recently. The arrested were identified as Amzad Hossain, 45, son of Abdul Alim Mothurapur village, Bachchu Mia, 45, son of Kazim Uddin Altafnagar bazaar area, Matiur Rahman, 24, son of Arshad Ali Buipur village, Lutfor Rahman, 42, son of Abdul Molla Kholash village, Insan Ali,25, son of Abdul Jalil, Bupur village under Dupchanchia upazila and Abdul Halim,22, son of Asraf Ali Tilochpitaher village under Adamdihgi upazila. Officer-in-charge of Dupchanchia police station Riaz Ahmad said, “On a tip-off police, led by sub-inspector Md. Musa, raided this area and arrested five gamblers from the board of card with money.” Besides they drive in Kholash area and arrested warrant based defendant Lutfor and sent him Bogra jail custody. Later five gamblers were produced before mobile court led by UNO and executive magistrate Saifur Rahman Khan. The wise court fined tk six hundred from each.
Word Health Day observed in Pirganj

The World Health Day was observed in Pirganj under Thakurgaon district on Monday as else where across the country with a slogan ” Mosha Masi Dure Rakhi: Rog-balai Mukto Thaki”. The day Health Department, Gopalganj brought out a colourful rally which paraded through the streets.Students, teachers, doctors, NGO’S, nurses, government officials and local elites attended the rally.After the rally a discussion meeting was held at Pirganj Upazila Conference Room where Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabbir Ahmed and Upazila Health and family planning Officer Dr. Abdul Masid.
Motor cycle lifter arrested in Bagerhat

Firoz Shaikh (30), son of one Shah Jahan Shaikh of village Purbo Basabati within Bagerhat Pourashava area was arrested by the police in connection with the lifting of a motor cycle from Bagerhat Sadar Hospital premises on Sunday at night.
It is is learnt from the police that at the night Shaikh Hasnur Rahman, son of Abdur Rahman, a retired army personnel of village Noapara under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila went to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital by a motor cycle in order to pay a visit to a patient. He kept the cycle near the gate of the hospital under lock and key and went to visit the patient. After a few whiles he returned to the gate and found that his motor cycle was missing. Then the owner of the cycle informed the police of the matter. On the other hand, the alleged motor cycle lifter was arrested by the police near at Daratana bridge over the river Daratana on Bagerhat-Pirojpur Highway while the fuel of the cycle exhausted. ASI Shaikh Shahid, Investigating Officer of the cas tells the newsmen that Firoz Shaikh is a professional hijacker of the district town and a number of criminal case are pending against him with Bagerhat Model PS.
