Memorial meet of AL leader Adv Azizur Rahman held

A memorial meeting of Adv Md. Azizur Rahman, a vetern freedom fighter and Senior District Awami League leader was held at Charsholakia in Kishoreganj town on Saturday afternoon. Zila Parished Administer Adv Md. Zillur Rahman attended as Chief Guest while Ward Councilor Md. Sultan Mia presided over. It was addressed among others by Poura Mayor Md. Parves Miah as special guest, Deputy Commander Basir Uddin Faruki, Adv Abad Hossain, Isam Uddin Miah, Liton Malek Chowdhury, Hindu Community Leader Badal Chatergee, Shamsul Islam, Suruj Mia and Former UP Chairman Mizanur Rahman.
6 injured in election of managing body of madrasa

Atleast six persons were injured when a clash took place between two groups of people at the time of holding election of the Managing Committee of Tekathia-Deapara Dakhil Madrsa in Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Thursday. Police said that Md. Abdullah, a Dakhil examinee of the madrsa could not appear in the ensuing Dakhil Examination due to his faulty admit card. On Thursday while the election of the Managing Committee of the Madrsa was being held an altercation took place between the group of Sadek Ali Milon, former president of the Managing Committee of the Madrsa and others over the failure of the student to appear in the Dakhil Examination of 2016 and at one stage it turned into a clash among the contesting candidates of the managing committee.
Husband commits suicide in Sylhet

A husband reportedly committed suicide by slitting her throat at Jalopara in the city’s Dakshin Surma area early Wednesday. Quoting a family member, Sub-inspector of Moglabazar Police Station said the deceased, Moklisur Rahman,55, Son of Askir Ali, a resident of Shopnonir 163, Sarnali in jalopara area Dakshin Surma, was mentally retarded. Moklisur Rahman father of two sons, Later he Poilce sent his dead body to Sylhet Medical College Hospital. One killed in Natore road accident
NATORE: A man was killed as a Nosimon (locally made vehicle) hit him in Banbelghoria bypass area in the district town yesterday morning. The deceased was Santosh Bosak, 50, son of Jogesh Bosak of Hugolbaria village in Sadar upazila. Police said the accident occurred when a Nosimon hit Santosh in the area at about 9.30 am, leaving him critically injured. Santosh was sent to Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested Nosimon driver Rejaul Karim, said officer-in-charge of Sadar thana Mizanur Rahman, reports BSS.
Two arrested with firearms, bullets in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 in a drive arrested two arms trader along with two foreign made pistols, four magazines and 14 rounds of bullet from Daulatbari area under Shibganj upazila of the district early this morning, a RAB press release said. The arrested were identified as Atiqul Islam, 27, son of Tafzul and Jabdul Haque, 30, son of Jahangir Hossain, residents of the same area. On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted the drive in the area at about 2.50 am and arrested the duo along with the pistols, bullets and magazines, reports BSS.
