Human chain formed demanding arrest of miscreant Babu

A human chain and assemble was held at Kurigram central Shaheed Minar near Kurigram-Dhaka road at noon on Friday evening demanding a miscreant who attacked on Shamol Boumik, General Secretary of Kurigram Press Club, Kurigram district correspondent of channel-i , district co-coordinator of group theatre Federation and convener of combined cultural Jott. The duration of the human chain organised by 20 social and cultural organisation including Bangladesh Mohila Parishad, Prachchad Kurigram, Samprotic and Chetona, Hindu Baddo Christian Okko Parishad, Jatio Puja Utjapon Parishad, Bangopbandhu Parishad, Bango Bandhu Sheshu and kishor Mela, Gatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, GonojagoranMoncho, Bhaiwaya Parishad, Lolitakola Academy. They expressed solidarity and demanded to take necessary lawful action against the miscreant. The artist Badal Ahmed, cultural personality Debbrata Bakshi Bulbul,Joti Ahmed, general secretary of bangobandhu Parishad Sanalal Bakshi, president of Mohiala Parishad Nandita Chakrobarte, general secretary of Hindu Buddah Christian Okkyo Parishad and eminent journalist Alok Sadkar, joint secretary of Kurigram Press Club Ataur Rahman Biplop. Reporter Aminul Islam Mukul,Freedom Fighter Sunil Barmon, Dr. Tapos Bose and Adv Sujit Kumer Chaterjee spoke among others. The speakers demanded to immediate remove from the post of general secretary of Kurigram Shilpokola Academy, member of district law and order committee.
One arrested with arms in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 in a drive arrested an alleged arms trader and recovered two foreign made pistols, four magazines and 11 bullets from Kaliganj village under Shibganj upazila of the district last night. The arrested was identified as Sahin, 35, son of Esrail of Jaminpur village of the upazila. On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted the drive in the area and arrested Sahin with the arms and bullets, RAB official said.A case was filed in this connection.
Man commits suicide in Benapole

A man reportedly killed himself over family feud by setting fire to his body at Basantapur village in Sharsha upazila on Saturday evening.The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain,38, son of Aiyub Hossain of Kathshakra village. Family sources said Alamgir had been living at his in-laws’ house at Basantapur village with his wife and children for one month.On Saturday evening, he had snacks with his family members.Later, he entered his room and set fire to his body around 6pm. With severe burn injuries, he was whisked off to Jessore Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead. While contacted, Officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station Maniruzzaman said he did not have any information about the suicide.
Two held with Yaba, ganja in Narail
NARAIL: Police in a drive arrested two alleged drug traders with 81 pieces of contraband yaba tablets and 100 gram of ganja from Fulbadhina village under Naragati upazila of the district last night. The arrested persons were identified as Anis, 40, and Alamgir, 35, of the upazila. Officer-in-charge of Naragati thana Abdul Jalil said acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted the drive in the area and arrested the duo with the drugs. A case was filed in this connection, reports BSS.
Man found dead in Habiganj
Police recovered the body of a man from Baniyachang upazila on Monday night. The dead was identified as–Momin Miah, 55. Local people said, they found the body of Momin lying on the street and informed the police. On information, police recovered the body. Baniyachang Thana OC Nirmulendu Chakraborti said, police are trying to collect information about the incident. The body was sent to Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue.
