Trader jailed for one year, fined Tk one lakh at Kishoreganj

A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB- 14) sentenced on businessman to one year jail and taka fined one lakh for keeping and selling unhygienic production, distribution, unauthorised BSTI, substandard oil at Poura Market in the town. Senior Magistrate Abu Taher Md. Sayeed pronounced the verdict on Tuesday night. The convicts are Tapan Kumer Sarker (35) Proprietor of Raj-Lakhi Traders & Oil Mill in Poura Market at Kishoreganj Town.RAB- 14 Major Md. Riadul Islam, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito and others official were present the operation drive.
Begum Rokeya Day observed
Kishoreganj Women Affairs Department arranged a colourful rally, discussion, certificate distribution Joyeeta (Rokeya) Award marking the Begum Rokeya Day on Wednesday. A discussion meeting was held at Jatiya Mohila Sangtha conference room on Wednesday. Dilara Begum Asma M.P attended as chief guest while ADC (Gen) Talukder Md. Akter Jamil presided .It was addressed among others by District Women Affairs Officer Kamiza Yesmin, Former Bar President Adv Dolon Bhomik, Mohila Sangtha Chairman Khaleda Fency Runa, Adv Maya Bhowmik, Upazila Vice-Chairman Kamrunnaher Lona, Mohila Somitti President Sultana Rajia and District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal.Chief guest Dilara Begum Asma M.P distributing among the Five Joyeeta Award.A colourful rally was brought out in the town.
