Medical Technologist, Pharmacist formed human chain for 10-point demands

Students of Institute of Health Technology in Barisal organized a human chain programme and held demonstration on the city roads Saturday to press home their 10-point demands. The programme called by Bangladesh Medical Technology and Pharmacy Samannoy Parishad was held in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall in the city. They also handed over a memorandum to the district civil surgeon with an agitation procession. The programme was presided over by Md. Shoyeb Hosen Aslam, convener of BMTPSP.It was addressed among others by Arifur Rahman, Obaydur Rahman, Arrnob Vokto, Sazal Pal, Sanjib Majumdar, Ratan Kumar Roy and Milton Biswas. Speakers of the program demanding immediate fulfillment of their 10-point demands cautioned that if their demands would not the fulfilled soon, then they will start hard movement to realise those.
Sky Mini Marathon held
As part to promote tourism in Bangladesh, the eight kilometer long Sky Mini Marathon held in Barisal on Friday. Everest Academy, ‘A’ for adventure and Jugantor Swajan Samabesh jointly organised the programme started and ended at Nagor Bhaban of Barisal City Corporation covering different routes from 7:14 to 8:00 am Friday. It was a divisional-selection part of an International Sky Marathon scheduled to be held in the hilly area of Bandarban on December 19. Traffic on city main roads was closed for about an hour to ensure safety and security of participants of the programme inaugurated by Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, deputy commissioner Barisal.
Drinking water supply project inaugurated

A project for supplying drinking water through pipe lines was inaugurated at Behula village under Gobratala union of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Saturday. Abdul Wadud MP inaugurated it as chief guest. A discussion meeting was arranged on the occasion there. Presided over by the chairman of Gobratala union parishad Araful Islam Azizi, the meeting was addressed among others by project director of BMDA Nazirul Islam, acting executive engineer of BMDA Atiqur Rahman and president of Gobratala UP unit of Awami League Azizul Islam.
3 held with pistol, ammo
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested three alleged arm traders along one pistol, seven rounds of bullet and two magazines from Gomostapur bus stand area of the upazila headquarters on Saturday afternoon. The arrestees were identified as Saddam Hossain, 22,son of Jamal Uddin, a resident of Parchowka village, Sagor Ali, son of Monirul Islam, a resident of Rojnagar Hangami village of Monkosha village, and Al-Mamun, 20, son of Ijabul Haque, a resident of Nimtola Kanthal village of Gomostapur upazila.
