Opinion exchange meet on corruption held

An opinion exchanging meeting between the officials of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and members of the newly- formed district and upazila level Durnity Protirodh Committees was held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner of Chapainawabganj on Sunday Arranged by the Coordinated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Rajshahi the opinion exchanging meeting was held with additional deputy commissioner (General) of Chapainawabganj Dr. KM Quamruzzaman Selim in the chair.Director of the Coordinated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Rajshahi Nasim Anwar attended it as chief guest. Among others, president of the Chapainawabganj district unit of Durnity Protirodh Committee Professor Dr. Md. Siraj Uddin and General secretary Masiul Karim Babu, Nachole upazila president of the committee Nurul Islam, Gomostapur upazila president Nurul Amin, Bholahat upazila president Hasan Ali, member of Shibganj upazila committee Aminul Islam and journalist Toslim Uddin spoke on the occasion.
School boy drowns in Gournadi

 A school was drowned at Sundardi village of Gournadi upazila in Barisal district on Monday afternoon.The victim was identified as Shoyon Chowkidar, 11, student of class-V at Dhandoba government primary school and son of Asgor Ali Chowkidar of Dhandoba village.Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station in charge, quoting family sources, said Shoyon went to visit his paternal-aunt at nearby Sundardi village and fall into pond at about 3:00 pm while playing there.Local people recovering Shoyon when brought to upazila health complex, attending doctor declared him as dead about 4:00 pm. Dead body handed over to family members lodging a general diary of unnatural death, police sources said.
Youth crushed to death by train in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: A young man was crushed to death by a train at Mohonpur rail crossing under Matihar thana in the city on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Jalal Uddin, 32, son of Harun-or-Rashid, a resident of Mohonpur Purbapara area in the city. Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Government Railway Police (GRP) station, said the Dhaka-bound train ‘Silkcity Express’ hit Jalal at about 4:00 pm while he was crossing the rail tracks, leaving him dead on the spot. Later, the railway police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, reports UNB.
Woman found dead in Sunamganj
SUNAMGANJ: Police recovered the body of an unidentified young woman from a paddy field at Burairgaon Bazar in Chhatak upazila on Monday afternoon. Murshed, sub-inspector of Chhatak Police Station, said locals spotted the body of the woman, aged around 30, in a paddy field of the area at about 2:00 pm and informed police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, reports UNB.
