A three-day international tourism fair titled Sylhet Travel Mart-2015 is set to begin in Sylhet at the Rose View Hotel today ( Thursday , October 8). Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury will inaugurate the fair as Chief Guest while Aparup Chowdhury, Ph.D, Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, and Md Al Amin, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner-in-Charge, will remain present as special guest and guest of hyonor respectively. A total of 18 organisations including airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, amusement parks and organisations providing tourism-related services, will exhibit their products and services in the fair. Exhibitors will be offering special discount on air tickets, hotel rooms, tour packages and other products and services during the fair. On the sideline of the fair, a seminar titled ‘Prospects of Adventure Tourism in Bangladesh’ will be held on 7 October at 4 pm at hotel where stakeholders from tourism trade will join. The fair is open for visitors up to October 10, 2015 from 11.00 am to 8 pm everyday
BCL men sexually harass two female students at RU

Two Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of Rajshahi University unit allegedly harassed two female students sexually on the campus on Monday evening. The victims, one is 3rd year student of Philosophy Department and another is 2nd year student of Physics Department lodged a written complaint to the university proctor yesterday noon. They also submitted a written complaint to the university Sexual Harassment Complaint Committee. Through written complaint, Victims said, BCL activists Sujon Pramanik, a 3rd year student of Islamic History and Culture Department and Liton Hossain, a 4th year student of Political Science Department blocked the road behind the central library while they were returning to hall from campus after evening. “While we tried to passing them, the duo hurled abusive words and harassed us with different physical indication”, victims also stated. They started screaming while BCL activists tried of being close to their bodies. Hearing the screaming, while some students came forward in the spot, BCL activists left the place, victims also stated. Immediately students informed the university Proctor Prof Md. Tarikul Hasan of the incident.
Human chain for nationalisation of MH Degree College

A human chain was formed at Shubganj upazila headquarter in Bogra district demanding to nationalization of Shibganj Muzaffar Hossain (MH) Degree College and protesting conspiracy on this issue. Md. Mannan, Acting Principal of the College presided over the function and former sate minister for forest and founder of MD Degree College Md. Muzaffar Hossain, Shibgaj upazila Awami League President Azizul Haque, Powra AL President Aminul Islam Dudu, Professor Nazrul Islam, Powara Councilor Tazul Islam were present . Thousands of students of the college, teachers, guardians and general people took part in the human chain with festoons, banners.
