Noapara AL conference held

A joint conference of Abhaynagar upazila and Nawapara Municipality units Awami League was held at Nawapara Institute Auditorium on Saturday afternoon. Abdul Wahab, president, Abhaynagar upazila unit Awami League chaired them conference. Shahin Chaklader, general secretary, Jessore district unit Awami League was the chief guest in the program. The program was also attended among others by leaders of Awami League and its front organizations – Enamul Haque Babul, Sarder Waliar Rahman, Abdul Maleq Mollah, Shibu Prashad Saha, Sana Abdul Mannan, Mohiuddin Ahmed, Faruk Hossain, Khan A Kamal, Akhtaruzzaman Taru, Ariful Islam Riyad, Anwar Hossain Bipul and Abdur Rauf.
Donation to flood -hit high school in Bogra

British Council’s Connecting Classrooms Project has donated one thousand pound for the reconstruction of flood damaged Noakhila PN High School under Chandanbaisha union of Shariakandi upazila in Bogra on Saturday noon. Connecting Classrooms is a British Council sponsored partner project. The main goal of the project is global citizenship. It works with sharing not only education but also cultural and social activities. Bogra Govt Girls’ High Scholl had been working with her partner school, Alford Academy, Scotland since 2007. Every year we collaborated some activities accompanied with partner school. The money collected from that charity programme which is worth almost 1000 pounds, will be donated to the Headmaster of that school for renovation. Ms Rabeya Khatun, respected Headmistress of Bogra Government Girls’ High School now handed over the fund to A.B.M. Ahsan Reza, Headmaster of Naokhila P.N School, on behalf of British Council’s Connecting Classrooms project with the presence of local lawmaker Abdul Mannan and his wife Shahadara Mannan and Acting DC of Bogra Khorshed Alam.
Two drug peddlers arrested in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted raids in different areas of Birampur and Hili frontier and arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of drugs from their possessions this morning. The BGB seized 1,640 Yaba tablets, 218 bottles of phensidyle, one and half kg ganja and 3,000 pieces of chocolate bombs. Dinajpur BGB sector sources said the members of BGB conducted raids at different areas of Birampur and Hakimpur upazila and Hili land port areas today and recovered the drugs. The arrested were identified as Zafarullah, 32 and Bulbul Miah, 24. BGB handed over them to Hakimpur Thana and filed a case against the arrested persons, reports BSS.
