Two BCC staff suspended over reviling Bangabandhu

Barisal City Corporation authority on Tuesday suspended two of its staff and transferred another one for alleged reviling Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
 The suspended two were Jahangir Hossain and Sajjad Hossain, road inspectors of BCC. Besides, Rezaul Kabir, another road inspector was transferred to taxation section of BCC because of his inactiveness to protest as the alleged crime committed in presence of him. A two-member probe committee including Anwar Hossain, secretary and Imtiaz Hossain, executive magistrate of BCC, has been formed to investigate the allegation and submit their report within next three working days, said Ranjit Kumar, chief executive officer of BCC. The CEO of BCC told the suspended two accused on Monday noon in their office uttering abusive words reviled Bangabandhu, the father of the nation, and the transferred one not only remained silent, but also abstained to inform the authourity about that.

Relief money distributed by Mohideb Jubo Kollyan Samity

Mohideb Jubo Kollyan Samity has distributed Tk 3000 each to 1650 flood affected families of Jattrapur, Mogolbachha, Hatiya, Bozra and Thetrai under Ulipur and Kurigram upazila in Kurigram district on September 23. The members of the flood affected poor families celebrated Eid-ul Azha happily with the money the organisation donated on the day. Upazila chairman of Ulipur Haider Ali, Ulipur UNO A.H.M Jaheri Hasan, Kurigram Sadar Upazila UNO Dipankor Roy and Kurigram Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman Ponir Hossen and representative of Save the Children Abdur Rahim were present on the occasion.

Kella Tajpur Museum Implementation Committee to be formed

 A special meeting of the planners of museum implementation committee and Creative Association was held at village Kella Tajpur on Sunday afternoon to form a convening committee for recognizing the historical village into one of the top tourist attractions and setting up a museum by local community. Chaired by Mohammad Raihan Uddin Sarker, chief organizer, the meeting was attended by other organisers Dilip Kumar Das, Rakibul Islam Rakib, Swapon Kumar Das ,journalist, writers and people from different professions joined the meeting.
