Youth held with phensidyl in Sylhet

Members of Rapid Action Battalion-9 (RAB) in a drive held a youth along with 10 bottles of Phensedyl syrup and four bottles of wine from Botessor area in the city on Saturday. The arrested was identified as Helal Ahmed, 28, son of Mostafa Mia of Chhatak upazila under Sunamganj district. Sources concerned said acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-9 conducted a drive in the area around 2:00pm and held Helal along with ten bottles of Phensedyl syrup and four bottles of Indian Officer’s choice wine.
Road mishap kills poly tech student

A student privatised Model Polytechnic Institute was killed and his brother wounded in road mishap at Chansra in Jessore town on Sunday morning. The dead was identified as Mohammad Ali, 18, 1st year student of Model Polytechnic Institute and also son of Monir Hossain of Narangali village under Jessore sadar upazila. Wounded Moshiur Rahman of Talbaria under Jessore sadar upazila is undergoing treatment at Jessore Medical College, said hospital sources. Wounded Moshiur Rahman told journalists that his brother-in-law Mohammad Ali was wounded critically as a truck hit their bicycle at Chansra at around 5:30am. He died at Jessore Medical College at around 9:15 am.
10 injured in attack by smugglers in Jessore
BENAPOLE: Ten people were injured allegedly in an attack by smugglers in Rudropur border area of Sharsha upazila in Jessore on Sunday night. Five of the injured were identified as – Asmat Khan, 38, Shahajan Ali, 34, Kamruzzaman, 33, Shawkat Ali, 32 and Jalal uddin, 35, all residents of the village. Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station, said a gang of smugglers attacked the youth over establishing supremacy in the area at night, leaving ten injured. The injured were admitted to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex, reports UNB.
1 held with 1,500 Yaba tablets in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a woman along with 1,500 pieces of Yaba tablets from Puthia bus station area of Puthiya upazila on Sunday afternoon. The arrestee was identified as Sabina, wife of Shahidul Haque, hailing from Patuakhali district. Rab officials said, they had secret information that several drug peddlers came to Rajshahi from Dhaka for supplying Yaba tablets at various spots in Rajshahi.Acting on that information, a team of Rab-5 at Bagmara camp conducted a drive in the bus stand area and recovered 1,500 pieces of Yaba tablets. Later, they arrested Sabina in connection with the incident, reports UNB.
Man held with 1,157 bottles of Phensidyl

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a man along with 1,157 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Razzaker More area of Boraigram upazila on Saturday. The arrestee was identified as Rashedul Islam, hailing from Moheshpur area of Jhenidah district. RAB sources said on secret information, a team of Rab-5 conducted a drive in the area around 1:30pm and recovered the bottles of Phensidyl syrup which had been kept hidden under the deck of a Dhaka-bound truck. Later they arrested Rashedul in this connection.
