EX- RCC mayor Minu released on bail

After two months of his arrest, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu was freed from jail on Wednesday night following bail in all cases against him. The BNP leader was released while under treatment at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Police members guarding him were pulled off around 8:15pm from the hospital after his release order reached the jail authorities in the afternoon. Jail Super Shafiqul Islam of Rajshahii central jail said Minu got bail in all cases. On September 9, Minu was admitted to RMCH after he complained of chest pain. On July 13 this year, two separate courts sent Mizanur Rahman Minu to jail turning down his bail petitions in six cases filed for vandalism and arson attacks during the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s hartal and blockade programme. Besides, Judge Mokseda Ajgar of Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 sent the BNP leader to jail in three cases filed with Boalia Police Station while he was granted bail in another case filed with the same police station.
Field day on Guti Urea held in Monirampur

A filed day on applying globule (Guti) Urea Fertilizer on paddy fields was observed at Monoharpur Primary School courtyard under 17 No. Monoharpur Union on Wednesday. International Fertilizer Development Corporation (IFDC) with Co-operation of DAE Monirampur Upazila arranged the programme . The project is supported by USAID. Cultivator Abdul Halim, Agriculture Specialist of IFDC Dr. Forhad Hossain addressed the function as Chief Guest while soil scientist Shoriful Alom as special guest. Among others , IFCD Field Monitoring Officer Tapon Kumar, Sub Asst. Agriculture DAE Monirampur Forhad Shorif, Sub- Asst. Agriculture Officer Keshabpur Halal Uddin and Tofazel Hossain spokes among others.  
Cop killed in Comilla road accident
COMILLA: A police man was burnt to death and nine people, including five police members and four prisoners, received burn injuries as a octane cylinder of police vehicle blasted after being hit by a truck in Amzad Bazar area of Chauddagram upazila on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Abdul Aziz, constable of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Forhad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chauddagram Police Station, said a team of the Detective Branch of police was returning to Dhaka from Chittagong in a microbus along with four prisoners. When they reached the area around 11:30pm, a truck hit their vehicle. Anwar Hossain, Nurul Hsan and Sharif Ahmed-while four injured prisoners are Nazim, Shawkat, Bashir, Abdus Shukur and Saddam, reports UNB.
Minor boy drowns in Sherpur

A minor boy drowned in a pond at Nayapara in Sribordi upazila on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Siam,6, son of Chingu Miah of the village. Locals said Siam slipped into the pond near his house at about 11:00am when he was playing on its bank. Later, local people recovered the body from the water body and took him to Sribordi upazila health complex where attending doctors declared him dead.
