Body recovered from fish farm in Morrelganj

Dead body of a young man named Rani Molla (24) was recovered from a fish farm in the village Bhaijor under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district on Saturday morning by his relatives . Rani Molla was the son of one late Mayeenuddin Molla of village Swaramangaol under Rajair Upazila in Madaripur district. The diseased and his mother went to the village (Bhaijor) a few days ago in order to pay visit to the house of his brother-in-law (sister’s husband) Merajul Hawladar. On Friday at about 9 am he went out of the house and since then he has been missing.
On Saturday in the morning at 11 am his decomposed dead body was found floating in a fish farm, adjacent to the house of Mirajul Hawladar. Setara Begum, mother of Rani Molla disclosed to the newsmen, his son had been suffering from epilepsy disease. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told the newsmen, in this connection a UD case was lodged with the local PS and the dead body will be handed over to the hands of the relatives after its autopsy is done.
Khaleda’s birth-day celebration foiled at B M College

Four JCD activists were injured and their programme for observing birth day of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was foiled by BCL attack at Government B M College campus on Saturday night. A three-member probe committee has been formed by college authourity in this connection on Sunday. Witnesses said JCD arranged a programme of doa-munazat prayer session for long life of Begum Zia at college mosque on Saturday evening. However before starting the programme BCL cadres led by Faisal Ahmed Munna attacking and chasing the assembled JCD activist foiled the programme. Four JCD activists were injured by BCL attack and BCL activists handed over one JCD activist Sahabuddin to police, who later released, claimed Wahidur Rahman Rubel, college unit JCD leader.
National Mourning Day observed in Thakurgaon

The National Mourning Day marking the 40th anniversary of martyrdom of Bangobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in Thakurgaon with due solemnity. Different political, socio-cultural, professional organisations, students and various Sramik organisations in the district chalked out elaborated daylong programmes in observance of the day. The day’s programme included hoisting of national flag half-mast atop all private and public buildings, placing of floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangobondhu, Quran khani, Milad Mahfil, discussion meetings, seminar, blood donation programme, poster and photo exhibition and feeding of destitute. In observance of the day Pirganj Upazila Administration under Thakurgaon Awami League hoisted national and party flag half-mast at the party office Saturday. Black flag was hoisted and floral wreaths were placed at the portrait of Bangobondhu. A mourning procession was brought out from Awami League office in the afternoon.
