Legal aid committee meeting held at Kishoreganj

A monthly meeting of district legal aid committee was held at Kishoreganj Judge Court conference room on Tuesday afternoon. District & Session Judge Md. Mahbub-ul Islam presided over the meeting. It was addressed among others by CJM Aziz Ahamed Bhuiyan, District Bar Prisedent & PP Shah Azizul Hoque, Secretary Adv. Sahidul Alam, Senior Advocate Bhupandra Bhowmic Dolon, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Habibur Rahman, Mohila Parished President Sultana Razia, Addtional SP Syed Abu Sayem, ASP Toffajal Hossain, Upazila Social Welfare Officer Humayun Ahmed Kabir Bhuiyan, District Women Affiers Officer (In-Charge) Kamiza Yesmin, POPY Manger Saiful Quddus, NUK Manager Saidur Rahman and Sub Judge & District Legal Aid officer Mahmudul Hasan.
Father, son electrocuted in Mollahat

One Mikhail Mallik (50), a poor man of village Astail under Mollahat Upazila in the district and his son Ibrahim Mallik (15) met their tragic end when they were electrocuted in their house on Sunday in the evening. Locals said that in the evening Ibrahim tried to put batteries of his van into charge in his own house. But, some how, he was suddenly electrocuted. Father Mikail who was standing by the side rushed to the spot and tried to rescue his son. But he was also electrocuted. They were immediately sent to Mollahat Upazila Health Complex for their treatment. But the doctor on duty declared them dead.
Theft committed in govt primary school
A daring theft was committed in Shitalbari Govt. Primary School under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila on Sunday night. Tapas Debnath, Headmaster of the school said that at dead of nigh a gang of thieves broke the lock of the office room of the school entered, entered it and looted a solar panel and valuable furniture and other materials worth Tk.50 thousand. In this connection a written complaint was lodged with Bagehat Sadar Model PS.
Terrorists swoop on students’ mess in Jessore

 At least 15 students of Government MM College were injured as miscreants allegedly backed by the ruling party swooped on a students’ mess at Kharki area in Jessore town on Tuesday night. Six critically injured were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital. They are: Fazlur Rahman, 22, Shah Newaz, 21, Hazrat Ali, 23, Sumon, 23, Shamimur Rahman, 22 and Rubel, 23 – all are students of masters’ final year of the college. Fazlur Rahman was being treated in unconscious condition, said Dr Moniruzzaman, assistant register of the hospital. Shikder Akkas Ali, Officer in-Charge, Kotwali police station told the terrorists attacked the students on Islami Chhatra Shibir suspension. ‘
