2 pistols, 10 bullets recovered in C’nawabganj

Two pistols, 10 rounds of bullet and 3 magazines were recovered from Kiranganj frontier under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district at early hours on Saturday. Second in Command of 9 battalion of BGB Major Sheikh Mohammad Mizanur Rahman said, a patrol team of BGB of Kiranganj Border Out Post (BOP) saw the arms and ammunition in an abandoned condition at 2-30 am at Kiranganj frontier near border pillar no. 179/4 S and seized them.
15 injured in Sylhet clash

At least 15 people, including two policemen, sustained injuries in a clash over land dispute at Barokhola in Dakshin Surma of Sylhet city yesterday. Police fired blank shots and tear shells and arrested two people on the spot. Over the land, there has been a long standing dispute between Ashique Ahmed, former ward councillor of the city; and Faizur Rahman, an expatriate, said Dakshin Surma Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ranjan Samonta. The clash ensued around 9:30am when Ashique and his supporters attempted to take control over the one acre of land and the people loyal to Faizur tried to resist them, Ranjan said. Over 300 people equipped with sticks clashed, he said. During the two-hour conflict, they pelted one another with brick chips, chased and counter chased, Ranjan said. Constables Sajib and Selim took first aid from Osmani Medical College Hospital, he added.
Body recovered from chitalmari hospital area

Dead body of a young man was recovered by the police from a place in front of Chitalmari Upazila Health Complex on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as one Shafiqul Shikdar (25), son of one Keramat Shikdar of village Chardakatia under Chitalmari upazila in the district.It is learnt from the locals that on the day in the after noon some people left the youngman who was unconscious in front of the Upazila Health Complex and fled away. Being informed of the matter the members of his family rushed to the spot and found him dead. Then they informed the police of the matter. Police went to the spot, recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat morgue for its autopsy. Dilip Kumar Sarkar, Officer-in-charge of Chitalmari PS tells the newsmen that it will be investigated who left the dead body there. He adds that the postmortem examination of the dead body will decide whether it is a case of suicide or homicide.
Truck driver killed in road accident in Baraigram

A truck driver Serwar Hossain (60) was killed and another 3 persons were injured in a road accident at Koyen under Baraigram upazila on Natore- Pabna High Way. Serwar Hossain was a son of Daud Ali of the village Horipada under Jhinaidah upazila. Bonpara High Way Thana O.C Masud Pervez said a truck (Dhaka Metro- T- 14- 0320) with fertilizer was going from Jessore to Rangpur. But another truck with iron rod was going from Dhaka to Pabna. When both truck reached at Koyen, a collision was happened face to face between them. As a result, a truck driver died on spot. Important parts of the both truck were damaged. A preparation for case filing was going on in this connection till the news writing.
Auto-rickshaw driver killed at Nalchity

Police recovered a dead body of an auto-rickshaw driver from Sujabad area under Nalchity upazila of Jhalakati district on Tuesday morning. The victim was identified as Mainul Islam Mamun, 18, son of Nasir Haoladar from Baroikhali village under Morelganj upazila of Bagerhut district. AZA Masuduzzaman, Nalchity police station in charge, said the hand-legs tied dead body was recovered from an abandoned well at the garden of Shamsu Master on basis of the information of the local people and his battery-operated auto-rickshaw was recovered from the roadside .
