Water treatment plant being set up in Jamalpur
Jamalpur : Ground water treatment plant is being set up to increase pure drinking-water supply in Jamalpur municipality area. Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) is constructing the ground water treatment plant at a cost of Taka 9 crore at Bogabaid area in the town under its “District Town Water Supply Project”. PHED office sources said iron and arsenic contamination should be removed from the ground water after setting up the plant and fresh water will be supplied through pipeline for the municipality dwellers. The work of the plant started on March 2015 and it will be completed by December 2016. Advocate Shah M Wares Ali Mamun, mayor of the municipality, said after completion the work of the plant pure drinking water crisis would be reduced to a great extent in the town.
Human chain for Falu’s release

Mosaddek Ali Falu Mukri Parishad, a newly introduced platform demanding the release of the president of owners association of privatized television channels, on Sunday morning formed a human chain in front of Jessore Press Club for half an hour since 10am.The human chain demanded immediate release of the leader of privatized television channels and also chair of ntv. Journalists and a cross section of people took part the chain.
6 dacoits held, truck found in Barisal

Wazirpur police operating a 36-hour drive on Sunday arrested six dacoits and recovered the mini-truck snatched by those criminals. The arrested six dacoits were Sirajul Haoladar, Rubel Haoladar, Milon Haoladar, Abdullah, Swapan Karikar and Hasan Bepari. Nurul Islam, Wazirpur police station officer in charge, said one Sirajul Haoladar rented a mini-truck(Barisal-N-11-0084) for carrying some goods from Vedron village of Guthia under Wazirpur upazila to Barisal on Friday , April 24 night. When the truck reached a the Vedron village as per direction of the lessee, a group of armed dacoits stopping the vehicle, tied the mini-truck driver Arun Shil with a roadside tree and fled with the vehicle at about 11:00 PM April, 24. Wazirpur police informed by the locals rescued the driver on early Saturday.
