BCL men grabbed MM College hall

Banhladesh Chhatra League men took control of Shahid Asad Hall of Government Michael Madhusudan College on Monday. Ransacking rooms allotted against the names of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and loting valuables, the BCL men occupied the hall ousting JCD men and general students at around 12 noon, said students of the college. The BCL men took away mobile phones and other valuables from inmates of the hall while occupying the only student hall, alleged the students. Professor Namita Rani, principal, Govt MM College, however, she did not heard such information. ‘ the authority should take steps if any such complaint is lodged’, she added. Sub inspector Raton Biswas of Kotwali police station told that inmates of the hall took away their valuables. ‘No incident of looting took place,’ he added.
7 get life for killing lawyer in Priojpur

A trial court in Barisal on Sunday awarded life term imprisonment to seven out of ten accused for killing Advocate Giasuddin Masud, a lawyer of Priojpur. Dilip Kumar Bhoumik, judge of the Speedy Trial Tribunal in Barisal, announcing the verdict also acquitted Sakhawat Hossain Tuhin, Nazmul Huq Murad and Morshed Jamaddar from the charges, founding them not guilty. The verdict was announced after examining 28 witnesses and other evidences. The life term sentenced seven accused were Kamrul Islam Khan, Monirul Islam Santu, Rezaul Talukdar, Alamin Shikdar Rony, Mizanur Rahman Jamaddar, Azizul Huq Khokan and Soharab Khan. Each of the convicted 7 accused were also fined Tk 20 thousand or to suffer more one year imprisonment in default.
SBMCH postpones written test for 4th class jobs

Barisal Sher-e- Bangla Medical College Hospital authority on Monday announced postponement of written test for employment of 4th class employees due to unavoidable circumstances. The test date was fixed as April 24, 2015. Fresh date would be announced soon. Earlier issued admit cards and terms and conditions would also be validated for fresh date, said Dr. Shahidul Islam Haoladar, deputy director and acting director and member secretary of the employment committee of SBMCH. SBMCH office sources said applications for employment of 172 posts including 81 third and 91 fourth class employees were called on September 23, 2014. After that 2,230 applications for 81 posts of 3rd class employees under 9 categories and 9,365 applications for 91 posts of 4th class employees under six categories, were submitted. Date of written test of 2,230 applicants against 81 posts of third-class employees under 9 categories, yet not fixed. However 9,365 applications for 91 posts of 4th class employees under six categories were scrutinised. Among them 8,998 applications were submitted for 67 posts of MLSS, 33 for one driver, 81 for 5 posts of electricians. Mechanic and liftmen, 24 for one ward-boy, 63 for 5 security guards and 166 for 12 cooks.
2 held with 193 pieces Yaba in Sylhet

Police arrested two young men from Bus terminal in the Sylhet city’s Kodomtoly area in the early hours of Sunday and seized 193 pieces of yaba from the possession of the arrestees. The arrestees are Milon khan, 40, and Ali hossin, 28 were sued under the Dakshin Surma Police Station of Sylhet, police said. After being tipped off, police raided on Bus terminal at around 1:00 am and nabbed the two, said Abdul Motalib SI of Dakshin Surma police Station.
