Student killed in Jhenidah road mishap

 A class sight student was killed in a road crash in Jhenidah. This accident occurred at Mothanpur bazar on Hakimpur-Barobazar road under Kaligonj upazila in Jhenidah on Wednesday morning. The diseased was identified as Emon Hossain, 13 son of Atier Rahma of Mothanpur village of the upazila. He was a student of class eight of M.M collegiate school. Principal Abu-Bakkor Siddik of M.M collegiate school said, on Wednesday morning at around 09:00 am Emon was going to school riding on a by-cycle. When he reached Mothanpur bazar a Kaligonj bound speedy truck hit him from behind and leaving him seriously injured. Instantly, locals rescue him and rushed to Jessore medicial college and hospital. He died on the way to the hospital. Officer in charge (OC) Anwar Hossain of Kaligonj police station conformed this matter.

One person electrocuted in Gazipur

One person was electrocuted at Itahata area in Gazipur city corporation on Sunday morning . The deceased was Mujibur Rahman, 40 is the son of Sirajul Islam of Itahata [Kalagachchia ]. He was driver in occupation. Relatives and hospital sources said Mujibur Rahman was electrocuted while he was repairing electric line at his own residence on Sunday. Later he was taken to Gazipur Saheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital on critical condition but doctors on duty declared him dead.

Farmer electrocuted in Thakurgaon

A farmer was electrocuted at Bhandagram village in Ranisonkoil upazila of Thakurgaon district recently . The deceased was identified as, 32, son of Chuoar of village Bhandagram of the upazila. Officer-in-Charge of Ranisonkoil Thana Sukumar Mohanta said Choitu Bormon was electrocuted while irrigating in a paddy with electric motor. An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with Ranisonkoil Thana.

Fake Ayurvedic practitioner convicted

A mobile court headed by Md. Abdul Halim, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate of Morrelganj Upazila on Friday convicted Abdul Aziz Hawladar (55), a fake Ayurvedic practitioner and Tantrik (who pursuing the rites of prescribed in Tantra) and son of one late Abdul Hakim Howladar of village Khawlia under the same Upazila and sentenced him to suffer simple imprisonment for 1 year and to pay a fine of Tk. 1 thousand and to refund a sum of Tk.39 thousand to a patient (realized from him through cheating). The prosecution case, in brief, is that convicted Aziz Hawladar, a fake physician and also a Tantrik had been prescribing Ayurvedic and harbal medicines to the patients for a long and realized money from them through cheating. He also used to prescribe medicines to the patients from far and near through mobile phone. Not only that but also he used to give treatment to the patients in Tantrik way. He confined Joynal Abedin, son of one Abdur Rahman Akon of village Charpara under Kalapara Upazila in Patuakhali district to his resort (Astana) for long one month and realized a sum of Tk.28 thousand from him in the name of Harbal and Tantrik treatment. But there is no development of the patients. In spite of that the fake physician and Tantrik demanded a huge amount of cash Taka for his further treatment.

Mohammedpur School prize giving ceremony held

The annual cultural programme and prize distributing ceremony-2015 of Mohammedpur Primary School was held atthe school playground Sunday. GM of Sylhet Sonali Bank Md. Forhad Hossain graced the ceremony as the chief guest. He distributed Merit Awards among the meritorious students of Mohammedpur Primary School and prizes among the winners of Annual Cultural Competition. On this occasion, the chief guest applauded the remarkable feat attained by the students of the school. He expressed hope that the school would continue this prosperous trend in future.
