Van puller killed in Kachua road mishap

A rickshaw van puller named Sohrab Hawladar (65) was killed on the spot when his van collided with a speeding motor cycle on the local Signboard-Bogi Highway at Josordee within Badhal Union under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday morning (at 11 am), according to a report received here. The deceased van puller was the son of one Rustom Ali Hawladar of village Putikhali under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district. The van puller was going to else where by his van and when he reached the place of occurrence his van collided head on with the speeding motor cycle that was coming from the opposite direction. As a result, the van puller was killed on the spot and the motor cyclist was fatally injured. The injured motor cyclist could not be identified till the writing of this report. SI Abdur Rahman of Kachua PS told, being informed of the matter police rushed to the spot, recovered the dead body and after completing the spot supervision the same was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The injured motor cyclist was sent to a local Hospital for his treatment.
Bicycles, scholarships, zakat money disatributed

Bicycles were distributed among 60 students belonging to the plain ethnic group and scholarships of Tk 2400 among 150 students of primary school, Tk 9,600 among 30 students of higher secondary and Tk 6,000 among 60 students of secondary school Checks are distributed in Kamalganj . In addition, zakat money of Tk 3500 was distributed among 6 poor and helpless people. Kamalganj UNO Sifat Uddin presided over the function as the chief guest Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan distributed bicycles, education scholarship checks and zakat money. The upazila administration has distributed 20 bicycles to poor meritorious students and fishermen and 20 sewing machines to poor women in order to improve the living standards of the small ethnic groups living in the plains in Barlekha of Moulvibazar. Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan delivered the keynote address and distributed bicycles and sewing machines at a meeting chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khondaker Mudassir Bin Ali and conducted by Upazila Secondary Education Officer Hawladar Azizul Islam at the Upazila Parishad meeting room on Monday afternoon.

A day-long workshop was held at the upazila level on 10 innovative initiatives of the Prime Minister at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Monday under the chairmanship of UNO Mezbaul Karim. Through virtual in the workshop Deputy Commissioner was present as the chief guest Farooq Ahmed. were present as special guests Chairman of Upazila Parishad (Acting) Anwar Hossain Khan, Assistant Commissioner Land Laila Jannatul Ferdous, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Sanjit Kumar Karmakar and others. District Local Government Deputy Director Tofazzal Hossain, Assistant Commissioner Land Executive Magistrate Mamum Billah and Afifan Nazmu were the main facilitators at the workshop.
