Illegal construction on govt road stopped

 Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent

The construction of houses on the government road was stopped on Thursday due to the complaint of the locals and the intervention of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mosha Mariam Khatun in Baraigram of Natore district. Locals have accused against Abdul Hakim of Sangrampur village of the upazila that he has been occupying the government road (Dahar) and constructing a house. Wazuddin Bhuiyan, son of Hossain Mollah of the village, has filed a complaint on behalf of the locals at the concerned department. The complainant said that Abdul Hakim had forcibly built a partially paved house on the road (dahar) land . This has caused great inconvenience to the cultivators and movement of the locals. Despite having his own land and houses elsewhere, motivated by purpose, he is trying to build a house in Dahar. He also said that he had earlier occupied 7 decimals of government land in Sangrampur of ward 7 of the union and sold 4 decimals of land for Tk 62,000 to Ajir Uddin, son of Mojibar of the same village and 3 decimals of land to Abul Hossain, son of late Jabbar for Tk 27,000. Arbitration has already taken place in the Zonal Union Parishad. Altab Hossain, co-president of Awami League of Zonal Union, said that Abdul Hakim had for a long time forcibly built houses on government land under the umbrella of influential people in different areas, lived for a few days and sold them elsewhere.
