Man to life term in Kishoreganj

A court in Kishoreganj on Monday noon has sentenced a 28 year-old man to life imprisonment for killing his wife in Kishoreganj. At the same time, a fine of Tk 10,000 has been imposed and another six months imprisonment has been given for non-payment. The Senior District and Sessions Judge. The convicted Fayez Mia (28), son of Chamir Uddin of Alinagar village in Deoghar union under Ashtagram upazila of Kishoreganj. According to Case Diary (CD), China Akhter, daughter of Fayez of Madhyam Alinagar village and Akkach Miah of Alinagar Uttarpara village got married on July 8, 2019. After 23 days of marriage (July 30), Fayez went to visit his father-in-law’s house at night. That night he strangled China by wrapping a scarf around his neck. When he went to call his mother-in-law for breakfast around 8 am, he said that an emergency call had come from home and he had to leave. And forbidding China to call, saying that if he is hungry, he can get up and eat. Then Fayez Mia left her father-in-law’s house. After not getting any response for a long time, the elder sister Chhaya went to Akhter China’s room and saw a scarf wrapped around her neck. Later, everyone in the house came running at his shout.

Expatriate’s wife commits suicide in Sharankhola

Selina Begum (35), wife of an expatriate committed suicide in her husband’s residence in the village Nalbunia within Dhansagar Union under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Saturday afternoon, according to a delayed report received here. Police recovered the dead body from there on Saturday at about 5 pm. Her husband Alamgir Khan is living in Saudi Arabia. Md. Ikram Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Sharankhola PS told, being informed of the matter police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the floor of the house after preparing the spot report. At that time it was noticed that she had committed suicide after hanging herself with rope. In this connection a UD case was lodged with the PS. On the following day the dead body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The police officer told with the reference of the neighbours, her husband has been living in the out side of the country. Following his absence family quarrel was takedn very often between her and other members of the family and ultimately this, perhaps, compelled her to end her life in a such a drastic way. She left behind a minor son and a minor daughter to mourn her death.

The real development of the society and the country will be if the development of the helpless and poor people deprived of the benefits of the society. He further said that Janata Bank is a people’s bank. This bank is working for the poor people across the country who are deprived of social responsibility.
