BGB seizes Indian illegal medicines in Jessore

Border Guard Bangladesh men early Thursday seized huge quantities of Indian illegal sex stimulated medicines and injections raiding Bakchar in Jessore town, said Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer, 26 Border Guard Battalion. The BGB CO told New Nation that acting on a tip off the BGB personnel raided the area at around 2am on Thursday and seized 160,050 pieces of sex stimulating tablets and 205 pieces of injections. Referring to doctors the BGB official told that the medicines are hazardous for health. None was arrested in this regard.
Man kills nephew in Benapole
A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by his uncle at Baropota village under Benapole port police station in Jessore on Wednesday morning. The dead were identified as Jamal Uddin, 32, son of Mizanur Rahman of Baropota village under the police station. Apurba Hasan, officer in-charge, Benapole port police station told that Ramjan Ali, his wife Manira Khatun and their sons killed Jamal with sharp weapons over feud following sharing a piece of land at their residence at around 11am on Wednesday. ‘Locals caught Ramjan Ali and his wife red handed from the spot and handed them over to police,’ he added. The victim was a nephew of Ramjan, the OC added. A case was lodged with the police station in this regard. Post mortem examination of the victim was made at Jessore Medical College Hospital.
RAB recovered 36 bottles of wine in Sherpur

RAB-14 recovered 36 bottles of foreign wine from Nandir bazar area in Sherpur Sadar upazila of Sherpur district on Wednesday. The arrestee was identified as Tuhin Marak (24) son of Newton Marak at Suto Gozni area in Jhenaigati upazila of the district. At the order of Additional Police Super Md Anisuzzman, the commander of RAB-14, CPC-1, Jamalpur company, a team led by S.I Sumon Sarkar was in ambulating at the highway of Nandir bazar area. A CNG auto rickshaw was going to Jamalpur along the highway. The ambulating team suspected the auto rickshaw and caught hold ethnic boy with the wines.
Man held with Phensidyl in Sylhet

Members of Rapid Action Battalion-9 (RAB) in a drive arrested a person along with 160 bottles of Phensidyl from Natun Bridge area of Kanaighat Upazila under Sylhet district on Tuesday.The arrestee was identified as Abdul Malek, 30, son of late Abdul Hannan of Agarchati village in Satbag union under the upazila. RAB sources said on secret information, they conducted a drive in Natun Bridge area and seized 160 bottles of sedative cough syrup and also arrested the trafficker.The seized Phensidyl and arrestee were handed over to Kanaighat Police Station. A case was filed in this connection, the sources said.
Old man commits suicide
A 50 year old unemployed man committed suicide at his residence in Kanaighat upazila on Monday morning. Boshir Uddin 50, had been jobless for almost a month due to which there were regular arguments between the couple. On Monday morning. neighbours saw the body hanging from a Kalbart piller. On being informed, the Kanaighat police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was sent for a post-mortem at the Sylhet Osmani Hospital.
