Mobile court evicts 1500 shops in Rangpur city

A joint mobile court of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and the district administration evicted over 1500 illegal roadside shops from footpaths in a two -hour drive conducted in the city this afternoon. Executive Magistrate of RCC Rashedul Islam and Executive Magistrate of the district administration SM Nadia Sultana jointly led the mobile court from 2 pm to 5 pm at different areas in the city, a press release here said.Concerned officials and employees of RCC, district administration and police forces were present while conducting the mobile court.The drive was conducted on the roadsides from the City Corporation Office to the Deputy Commissioner office in the city.Besides, the mobile court removed more than 50 illegally hung signboards from different places between the areas from Jahaz Company crossing to Kamal Kachhna during the drive.
6 hurt in AL-JL clash in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: At least six people were injured, two with bullets, in a clash between two rival groups of ruling Awami League and its youth front Jubo League on the Bagha upazila parishad premises here on Friday. Sources said the clash ensued when the supporters of Tasikul Islam, a leader of Bagha municipality unit Jubo League beat up Amir Hossain, a supporter of Abdul Kuddus, president of Bagha municipality unit Awami League, as he refused to give them Tk 20,000 toll while going to Bagha by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw around 9.00pm. On information, Lal Chand, another supporter of Abdul Kuddus, rushed to the spot and tried to resist them. But the supporters of Tasikul also beat them, report UNB.
Anti-Corruption Prevention Week observed in Kishoreganj

Anti-corruption Prevention Committee , Kishoreganj Unit arranged a human chain, discussion, colourfull rally and cultural programme marking its week on Monday. A discussion meeting on “Let us all promise together and hate corrupts” was held at S.V. Govt. Girl’s School auditorium on Monday noon with Anti-Corruption District Committee President Principal Prof Golam Morshed in the chair. Chief Judicial Megistrate (C.J.M) Aziz Ahamed Bhuiyan attended as Chief Guest. Additional C.J.M Fazlul Bari and Headmaster Shahanaws Kabir attended as special gust. It was addressed among others by Principal Rafiqul Islam, Prof Pranesh Sarker, Liza begum, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Senior Advocate Hafizuddin, School Teacher Abdullah and Adv Abdur Rahman, P.P of Anti-corruption Commission. Later, a cultural function was held at S.V. Girl’s School auditorium.
4 held with 175 Yaba pills in Magura
MAGURA: Detectives in a drive arrested four people along with 175 pieces of Yaba tablet from Laxmikandar in sadar upazila on Saturday. The arrestees are Faruk Mollah, Azharul, Swapan and Selim Mia of Boroi village in the upazila. Being informed, a team of DB police conducted a raid in the area and arrested the four people along with 175 pieces of Yaba tablet in the morning, said Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. Police also seized a motorcycle from the spot. The arrestees have long been involved in Yaba trading, said police sources, reports UNB.
