Student killed in Kapasia

Mim Akand, an eighth class student was tragically killed when his auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a truck at Barahar Natun Bazar on the Kapasia-Kishoreganj Road in Gazipur on Friday. She is the daughter of Hiron Miah of Barahar Village. The victim’s uncle Tareq said Mim, an eighth class student of Gazipur Cadet Academy, Amraid branch, was returning home from a wedding with his relatives in an auto-rickshaw. A reckless speeding truck hit the auto-rickshaw near Barahar New Bazaar in Rayed Union of the upazila. As a result, teenage Mim died on the spot. The school’s headmistress, Umme Kulsum Shilpi confirmed the incident.

4 robbers arrested in Ishwardi

While preparing for the robbery, 4 robbers were arrested in Ishwardi along with weapons and a private car. On Monday at 2.45 pm, the locals arrested them and handed them over to the police in Arpara Battala area of 8th ward of Muladuli union. Among the arrested robbers are Johnny Ahmed (27), Mahabub (40), Bachchu (27) and Rocky (26). Police Officer-in-Charge Asaduzzaman Asad confirmed that all of them are residents of Kushtia district. The OC said that 5-6 more people associated with them escaped. Area UP member Tara Malitha and locals said that the locals had been keeping vigil at night for some time due to the theft of cows in the area. About 17 people were on guard that night as well. The guarding villagers noticed that a black private car from Rajapur Bazar stopped at Arpara Battala area of 8th ward of Muladuli union late on Monday night.

Mobile court to prevent corona

Mst Maryam Khatun, UNO, Baraigram conducted a mobile court for not following the hygiene rules to prevent corona in different areas of Bonpara Municipal Town on Sunday. At this time masks were distributed among the pedestrians by the administration. It is compulsory to wear a mask during coronation. But many people are not using masks for various reasons. This campaign is carried out to ensure that everyone wears a mask outside the house. Operations were conducted in various markets and bypass areas of Bonpara municipal area. At that time a fine of Tk 1200 was imposed in 6 cases.
UNO said that such campaigns will continue to prevent the corona spread.

Schoolboy held
Police on Saturday arrested a schoolboy named Abdur Rahman (18) for allegedly raping a school-girl at a friend’s house in Natore. The arrested Abdur Rahman is the son of Hasmat Ali of Karotajharmara village in Sadar upazila of Natore and a student of 10th class of Bonpara St. Joseph’s School and College in Baraigram upazila. According to local and police sources, Abdur Rahman formed a friendship with the victim about a month ago. A week ago, the girl was taken for a walk in Natore town and Abdur Rahman took her to a friend’s house and raped her. Besides, he uploads offensive pictures on his mobile phone. Later on Friday morning, when he called the girl again to a friend’s house in Natore, she refused to go. Later, Rahman showed the pictures on his mobile phone and threatened to spread them on the internet. On Saturday, the victim girl technically took the keys of Abdur Rahman’s motorcycle and mobile phone in her custody and started shouting towards her classmates. Later, the teachers of the school went to the spot and took the three mobile phones and motorcycle of the student in the custody of the school, called the parents of both the parties and informed the police. Police came and arrested Abdur Rahman. Baraigram Police Station OC Abdur Rahim confirmed the incident and said the case was under process.
