Annual meet of Betaga UP Chhatra League held

The annual meeting of Betaga Union Unit Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL) under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district was held in Betaga United Model High School premises on Saturday afternoon (at 4 pm) with its President Md. Mirazul Islam Mizan. Swapan Kumar Das, Chairman of Fakirhat Upazila Parisahd and President of the Upazila unit of Bangladesh Awami League was present in the meeting as the chief guest while the annual meeting was inaugurated by Joyanta Kumar Das, Convener of Fakirhat Upazila Chatra League unit. Md. Kawsar Ali Fakir, Joint Secretary of Upazila Awami League, Sardar Aminur Rashid, Publication Secretary of Fakirhat Upazila Awami league, Sardar Aminur Rashid Mukti, Publication Secretary of the Upazila Awami League, Md. Yunus Ali Shaikh, President Betaga Union Awami League, Ananda Kumar Das, General Secretary of Betaga Union Awami League were present as pecial guests. Shaikh Shariful Islam was the main speaker in the meeting.

Students to get 74 thousand new text books

Distribution of new text books among the students of all the educational institutions of Primary and High School level in the year 2022 was ceremonially started on Saturday. On the occasion Md. Jalal Uddin Khan, Upazila Education Officer of Morrelganj was present in the book distribution ceremony held in the premises of 104 No. Government Primary School on Saturday. It was addressed among others by Head Mistress Mahmudad Khanam. Book distribution ceremony was also held in Nabbairashi Uttar Bisharighata non-Govt. Primary school on the day. Zafar Iqbal, Headmaster of the school and other teachers were present in the occasion.

Kidnapped girl recovered

A teen aged girl student (16) of a madrasa kidnapped from Lokpur area under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district was recovered from ‘Tin Dokan’ area under Sreenagar Upazila in Munshiganj district by a contingent of RAB-10 at Tuesday night (at about 20 pm). At that time the main accused Md. Atikul Shaikh (21), son of one Atiar Shaikh of village Kahardanga within Lokpur Union under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district was arrested by the RAB from there. Abu Sayeed Md. Khairul Anam, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS that on Monday evening arrested Atikul Shaikh allured the girl student hails from Lokpur area, took her into a micro bus very tactfully and fled away. In this connection mother of the girl registered a kidnapping case with the PS in the following morning (Tuesday) as the plaintiff. He added, medical examination of the victim girl was already done and the case is mow under investigation.
