UP members take oath in Baraigram

The newly elected reserved members and general members of five union parishads under Baraigram upazila have been sworn in Natore. On this occasion, a meeting was held at the upazila auditorium on Tuesday.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mst. Mariam Khatun presided over the meeting and Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr.Ujjal Kumar Kundu conducted it. In the election held on November 11, 15 reserved women members and 45 general members of five union parishads of the upazila took oath. They were newly elected on last November 11 of 2nd phase UP election.

Awami League leader dies

Awami League leader Akkas Ali (70) died at Baraigram in Natore on Tuesday. He is the son of late Abul Yusuf Ali of Ramagari Village. He left behind wife, one son, one daughter and relatives to mourn his death. He was buried at the local family graveyard after Janaza at Ramagari Eidgah on Tuesday afternoon. Baraigram Upazila Chairman Dr. Siddiqur Rahman Patwari, former Deputy Director of Natore Sadar Hospital Dr.Ansarul Haque, Principal of Ahmedpur Azam Ali Degree College SM Asad Uz Zaman, former Chairman of Joari UP Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Akbar Ali Mandal including hundreds of people participated at the Janaza .

School teacher killed in Tarash

A school teacher has died in a road accident at Tarash in Sirajganj. The incident took place on the Tarash-Bhuiyagati regional road at Dhap-Washin junction of Madhainagar union in the upazila on Tuesday evening. The matter has been confirmed by Alhaj Md. Golam Rabbani, nephew of the deceased, President of Upazila Press Club and upazila representative of daily Nabochetona. The deceased was identified as Anjuara Begum, daughter of late Mumtaz Uddin of Washin Village in the upazila and wife of Abdur Rauf Ashok of Simla Village in Chandaikona Union of Rayganj Upazila.
She is the headmistress of Mahipur Government Primary School in Sherpur Upazila. According to the locals, the deceased Anjuara Begum was on her way to her father’s house from Sherpur with the help of CNG when she got off the CNG at Tarash-Bhuiyaganti Regional Road and was talking on her mobile phone. A three wheeler Nasimon was speeding, pushed him and he was seriously injured. When the locals rescued him and brought him to Tarash Sadar Hospital, the on-duty doctor referred him to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for better treatment. When he went to Bogra Hospital, the doctor on duty declared her dead.
