Book unveiling ceremony at Netrakona

The poetry book titled ” Nilabh Nigor” written by prominent social worker and writer Farid Hasan was published in Netrakona on Sunday. Principal of Netrakona Government Women College Prof Mohammad Sirajul Islam formally unveiled the cover of the book at the Conference Room of the women college.

A cross section of people including poets, writers, lawyers, doctors, teachers, journalists and students were present at the function. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of District Bar Association Advocate Safiul Hasan Monju , Vice President of Netrakona Press Club Sanwar Hussain Bhuian, Vice President of Netrakona Public Library Abdul Hannan Ranjan, Advocate Mahfujul Haque, former general secretaries of Netrakona Press Club Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhory Halim and M. Faqrul Haque. Later, the function was followed by a poetry recitation session.

Confce of Teachers’ Assoc in Baraigram

A triennial conference of the Upazila Secondary Teachers-Employees Welfare Association was held at Baraigram in Natore through colorful rallies, discussion meeting. According to the unanimous decision of the members of the conference, Headmaster Wasek Ali Sonar and Headmaster Mahbubur Rahman have been re-elected as President and General Secretary respectively of the association. Mayor of Bonpara Municipality KM Zakir Hossain inaugurated the conference on Saturday at Bonpara Model High School premises under the chairmanship of President Wasek Ali Sonar. Chandai UP Chairman Headmaster Shahnaz Parveen, former Headmaster Babu Gaurapad Mandal, Abdur Bari Majumder, Shri Sudhanshu Sarkar and Akbar Ali were present as special guests. General Secretary of the Association Mahbubur Rahman presented the annual report and financial statements. Later, in the last one year, 21 teachers and employees of different schools of the upazila who died and retired and their relatives were given checks of financial assistance of Tk 11 lakh 96 thousand 870 TK. from the funds of the association.

 Earlier, a minute’s silence was observed in honor of the Shahid Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the martyrs of the great liberation war, teachers and staff who had died in the last one year. Also, the national flag was hoisted. At the same time, a colorful rally with the participation of a total of seven hundred and fifty teachers and staff of 44 secondary schools of the upazila paraded various roads of Bonpara pouro town.
