Discussion meet on child protection

Awareness raising discussion on child protection was organized by SOS Social Center Sylhet at SOS Shishu Palli Sylhet in Dayamir of Osmaninagar Upazila recently. Director of SOS Shishu Palli Sylhet Mohammad Yusuf Ali addressed the meeting as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Tanvir Ahmed, Program Officer and Incharge of SOS Social Center Sylhet. The event was attended by 60 children and caregivers and SOS co-workers of the Family Strengthening Program of different communities of Dayamir Union. Chief Guest Yusuf Ali said that SOS Shishu is committed to creating such a caring and safe environment for rural children and keeping it intact. Which develops its true values and prevents and tackles child abuse and exploitation?
3 shops sealed for holding tax
The Sylhet City Corporation has been conducting a mobile court on charges of recovering arrears of holding tax and conducting business without a trade license. On Monday a mobile court in SCC sealed three companies on Telihaor Road in Sylhet city on charges of arrears of holding tax and conducting business without trade license. Haliam Khichuri House, Medina Pan Bhandar, Qutbuddin Pan Arat on Telihaor Road in the city were sealed. The campaign was conducted by SCC Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Magistrate Matiur Rahman Khan. Confirming the operation, SCC Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Magistrate Matiur Rahman Khan said, “It is our regular operation. The operation is going on now.” Now it is not possible to say the exact number of shops.

Human chain, discussion meet held

A human chain and discussion meeting were held in Tarash of Sirajganj at Ghoshpara Palli Samaj of the Municipality organized by BRAC’s Social Empowerment and Legal Protection Program (CELP) project on Tuesday. The program has been carried out under the theme “Stop Violence Against Women and Build an Orange World”.

On the occasion of Social Empowerment and Legal Protection Programme (SELP) Project and 16 days campaign for prevention of violence against wome. Among others, Upazila Mahila Vice Chairman Lecturer Morzina Islam, Ward Commissioner Bakul Hossain, Social Empowerment and Legal Protection Programme (CELP) Project were present on the occasion. Clients from different areas including Associate Officer Chalma Akhter, Vice President of Upazila Press Club Mohsin Ali, General Secretary Shahinur Rahman (Shahin) took part there.
