DCCI expects economy to make V-Shaped recovery

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has expected that Bangladesh’s economy will rebound in 2021 propelled by V-Shaped recovery.
A V-shaped recovery is characterised by a quick and sustained recovery in measures of economic performance after a sharp economic decline.
While talking DCCI President Rizwan Rahman said despite COVID-19 stress, Bangladesh has registered remarkable 5.47 percent GDP growth in FY2021 respectively backed by strong economic fundamental, international trade base, resilience absorbing economic shock and became the 3rd
largest growth performing economy in 2020 as per the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

BGAPMEA goes to polls on Nov 6

The maiden election to Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) will be held on November 6.
They will exercise their voting rights for the first time to elect five directors from the Chattogram region.
Out of 21 directors required to form the board of directors of the trade body, 16 directors from the Dhaka region have been elected uncontested, according to a meeting of the organisation held on October 16.
M Mozaharul Haque Shahid, managing director of Bismillah Industries Ltd, is expected to be elected as the BGAPMEA president unopposed, said one of the candidates.

CGA Muhammad Mamun Ur Rashid FCGA has been elected President of the Institute of Certified General Accountants of Bangladesh (ICGAB) by the Governing Council. Besides, CGA Sheikh Munwar Hossain FCGA was elected as the Vice President.
Outgoing President of the Governing Council CGA Zahirul Kium FCA, Senior Vice President CGA Abu Noyem M Khasru FCGA and all members of council congratulated the newly elected President and Vice President.
Muhammad Mamun Ur Rashid sought the cooperation of the Council and all respected members of the Institute. With admiration, he recalls ICGAB’s founder president Dr Saleh Ahmed Bhuiyan FCGA.
He called upon all professional accountants to work together for the economic development of the country and improvement of the quality of accounting profession.
