After rising for eight consecutive sessions, DSEX, the benchmark index at the Dhaka Stock Exchange, fell 56 points to settle at 7,202 points on Sunday.
At the same time, the blue chip index – DS30 – fell 9 points and settled at 2,638 points, while the Shariah index – DSES – fell by 16 points and settled at 1575 points.
Although most of the shares witnessed price correction at the bourse on the day, the daily turnover increased by Tk 11.82 crore and stood at Tk 2,708 crore.
Tipu expects EU to continue trade facilities in BD

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Sunday expressed his optimism that European Union will continue to provide trade facilities in Bangladesh, even after the country’s graduation to Least Developed Country (LDC) in 2026.
“Bangladesh is making efforts to get trade benefits of LDC countries in the next 12 years after LDC graduation in the World Trade Organization. To this end, the European Union is expected to co-operate with Bangladesh”, he added.
The Commerce Minister made the remarks while exchanging views with the EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink in the office room of her official residence on Sunday, said a press release.
Teerink said, `Bangladesh is an important trading partner of European Union. In the field of trade, the European Union attaches great importance to Bangladesh. The trade facilities of the European Union given to Bangladesh will continue.’
MetLife expands payment facilities with One Bank

MetLife Bangladesh has signed an agreement with ONE Bank Limited to expand its premium payment facilities.
With this, MetLife customers will be able to pay their premiums at over 100 ONE Bank Agent Banking centres located throughout Bangladesh, said a press release on Saturday.
MetLife customers have been availing premium payment facility at One Bank’s more than 128 branches and sub-branches since 2015. With the addition of Agent Banking centres, customers will now be able to get premium payment services at all One Bank service channels.
