Banks, bourses to remain closed today

Banks and stock markets of the country will remain closed today on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community.
The Bangladesh Bank, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) have confirmed the closure on Monday for the government holiday in separate media releases.
Due to the bank holiday, banks and financial institutions would not provide services to their customers, the central bank said.
Share market trading would also remain suspended because of the bank closure.
Reliance One
approves 10.5pc cash dividend

Reliance One, the first scheme of Reliance Insurance Mutual Fund, has approved a 10.5% cash dividend to its unit holders.
The dividend was based on the profit available for distribution for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday, the fund reported earnings per unit (EPU) of Tk4.06 for the year ended on June 30, 2021 as against Tk0.04 in the negative for the same period of the previous year.
During Sunday’s trade, the closing price for each of its units was Tk13.

Insurance declares 2pc dividend

Express Insurance Limited declared a 2% final cash dividend for its shareholders on Sunday.
Earlier, the company also declared a 5% interim cash dividend, which has already been paid, Express Insurance said in its filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange.
In the filing, the company also said that its earnings per share (EPS) was Tk1.64 for the year ended on December 31, 2020, as against Tk0.97 (restated) for the same period of the previous year.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company, where the final cash dividend will be approved, is scheduled to take place on December 9, 2021.
Express Insurance made its debut on the stock market back on August 24, 2020. The closing price for each of its shares was Tk38.2 during Sunday’s session.
