Toddler’s body recovered from dumpster in city

A toddler girl’s body has been recovered from a dumpster at Hazaribagh in the city on Tuesday.
The body of the one-and-half year old little girl was discovered by a local person.
Confirming the matter, Hazaribagh police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Ekram Ali Mia said, “A person called us at 8:30am and told us that a toddler’s body was found at Hazaribagh Park. After reaching the spot, police recovered the body. The toddler was a girl; she had a red half-pant and blue t-shirt on her.”
The identity of the girl and the cause of the death are yet to be known, police said.

 “The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy,” the OC said.
NSU waives 20pc tuition fee

North South University has announced that they would waive 20 percent of tuition fees for the upcoming Fall-2020 semester, in the wake of students’ demo.
A group of NSU students yesterday held a sit-in on campus, demanding 30 percent waiver of fees in the upcoming Fall-2020 semester due to the coronavirus pandemic, for third consecutive days.
They also demanded cancellation of all student activities fees-like computer lab fee, library fees and others-as authorities are holding classes online and they have no scope to use the campus facilities.
“University authorities have decided to give 20 percent tuition fee waiver and same percentage of student activities fees waiver,” NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam told media.
DU decides not to hold online admission tests

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities decided to curtail admission test marks, hold division-wise tests and not to hold online admission tests for the 2020-2021 academic session.
The decision was taken during a meeting of Deans’ committee presided over by DU Vice-chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman today.
DU Pro-VC (education) Prof ASM Maksud Kamal said, “We have decided not to go for online admission test and initially decided to hold division-wise tests. In this case, we will set up the exam centres and hold the test upon talking with the authorities of the universities in divisions across the country.”
Prof Maksud said the minimum criteria for applying in different units will remain same and they will fix the dates after the results of HSC is published.
According to the meeting sources, total marks of the admission test has been reduced to 100 from 200.
