7 RMG workers test positive in Savar

Eight people, including seven RMG workers, were diagnosed with coronavirus in last 24 hours till Friday night after reopening of garment factories on limited scale amid risks of the virus transmission.
Confirming the matter, Upazila Health and Family Planning officer Dr Sayemul Huda said that he has sent letter to the Upazila Nirhabi Officer (UNO) requesting to shut all the factories, including garment ones, as the coronavirus cases are on rise in the upazila.
He also requested local MP and state minister for disaster and relief in this regard and sent a copy to the Director General of Directorate of Health and other departments concerned.
Among the garment workers, five are male and two are female and they are undergoing treatment at Mirpur Lalkuthi General Hospital. The houses of infected patients have been put under lockdown. Meanwhile, garment worker Selim Hossain, who tested positive five days ago, went into hiding.

18 among 540 doctors recover : BDF

A total of 18 physicians have recovered from Covid-19 so far in the country, according to Bangladesh Doctors’ Foundation. The number of total infected physicians stands at 540 as of Saturday, according to BDF.
Of them, 387 are from hospitals in Dhaka division while 57 are from Mymensingh, BDF sources added.
Fourteen are from hospitals in Chattogram, 29 from Khulna, 10 from Barishal, six in Sylhet and seven are from Rangpur. The rest are from different specialised hospitals.

Govt launches risk test system on Viber bot

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak today launched live corona risk assessment test system for citizens’ on Viber bot.
Viber is a cross-platform voice over IP and instant messaging software application, while bot is a software application that runs automated tasks over the internet.
Palak inaugurated the https://vb.me/ict_bot_bangladesh2020_pr titled bot through virtual press conference.
Anyone, with Viber account, can assess the level of risk of coronavirus to him and find out the things to do by using the application launched on trial basis, with the help of Directorate General of Health Services and MCC, an official release said.
