Resumptioon of Rly station demanded

Local people have created a blockade at Tilagaon Railway Station demanding resumption this station services in Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar yesterday. Around a thousand people, led by a local platform ‘Oikkaybadha Nagorik Somaj Tilagaon’, have been blocking the railway links at the station. Two train services, a Sylhet’s Chattagram-bound train and another Sylhet’s Akhaura-bound commuter train have remained stranded amidst the blockade in different stations. The protesters have taken to sit-in at Tilagaon Railway Station and stopped Parabat Intercity express. The group has also held a meeting at the railway station. The convener Abdus Salam Chowdhury has said that Dhaka-bound four intercity train services have been abruptly discontinued. Other local and mail trains shuttling from Sylhet have also been stopped. “These services need to be resumed,” he said. This station Master Sakhawat Hossain is working at Maizgaon Station. And points man Yasin Ali is at the Baramchal station. But they are taking their salaries in the name of Tilagaon Railway Station. Meanwhile, former Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali gave a letter to Railway Minister Mujibul Islam to run the station, he added.
Trader killed under running train

An old trader was crushed to death under a running Inter City Sagorika Express Train bound for Chattogram via Laksham from Chandpur on Friday afternoon at Bakila area in Hajiganj Upazila in Chandpur-Laksham rail route. The deceased was identified as Serajul Islam, 65, a furniture trader and a veteran BNP member, hailed from Bakla village under Bakila Union in Hajiganj Upazila. Chandpur Railway Police OC Sarwar Alam said, while Seraj was crossing the rail track, he was hit suddenly by the train and was crushed to death on the spot. On being informed of, Railway Police rushed to the spot later and recovered the broken pieces of the body in the afternoon. The body was handed over to the close kin at night.
One held with Yaba in Rampal

A man named Sohag Shaikh (30) , son of Nasir Uddin was arrested with 142 pieces of Yaba in Rampal. On secret information, a team of RAB-6 in a drive arrested him from Hogoldanga and handed over him to Rampal Thana. OC of Rampal Thana Delwar Hossain Khan has told the newsmen that a team of RAB-6 in a drive arrested him at 4p.m. from Hogoldanga of Uzarkur Union of the Upazilla on Thursday (26th December) . A case has been filed in this respect and he had been sent him to Bagerhat Jail on Friday.
6 months jail for keeping hemp
Mobile court sentenced a man named Proshanto Kundu , son of Jagodish Kundu of Fayla Bazar under Rampal Upazilla for keeping hepm on Friday morning. It is known from mobile court and Rampal Thana that on secret information, IC of Foylahat Police Camp Lutfar Rahman arrested him and recovered some hemp from Proshanto. Then he was placed before UNO and Executive Magistrate of Rampal Tushar Kumar Paul and he sentenced him six month jail and sent to Bagerhat Jail.
