Aman paddy procurement starts at Bhangura

Aman paddy collection programme has been started from the farmers in Bhangura Upazila on Thursday. Alhaj Md. Baki Billah,Chairman Bhangura Upazila Parishad inaugurated the programme by purchasing 520 kg of paddy from the farmer Taizal Hossain. In the meantime, Syed Ashrafuzzaman,UNO Bhangura,Mayor Gholam Hasnain Rashel,Bhangura Municipality,Golam Hafiz RanjuUpazila, Vice Chairman, Md Shariful Islam, Upazila Food Controller, Md Nazmul Haque OC (Investigation),Press Club President Prof.Mahbub-Ul-Alom and Godown Officer Sarmin Akter were present in the occasion . This year, the target for procurement of paddy has been assigns at 323 metric tons and the price per kg has fixed at Tk 26. Godown Officer Sarmin Akhter said that 743 farmers were selected by lottery to purchase rice directly from the farmer. The programme will run from February 24.
Bicycle distributed among under-privileged female students

LankaBangla Foundation undertook ‘Shikha Bicycle Distribution Programme’ at Pirganj Upazila in Rangpur as part of its CSR activities on Wednesday. Under this programmes , total 100 bicycles were distributed among under privileged female students of different schools of PirganjUpazila. Shikha is an initiative by LankaBangla Finance that encourages economic empowerment of women of our country. LankaBangla Shikha platform has planned and arranged to provide bicycles among underprivileged female students as school transport to facilitate their education smoothly. This transport facility will definitely help them to attend the school on time regularly at the same time it will give them security and comfort. Science, Technology Fair begins

A three day long Science and Technology Fair was inaugurated at Kishoreganj on Tuesday . DC Md. Sarwar Morshed Chowdhury was Ppresent as Chief Guest of the occasion. Sadar UNO Md Abdul Kadir Mia presided over the meeting. It was addressed among others by Sadar Upazila Vice-Chairman Md Abdus Sattar, Vice-Chairman Female Masuma Akter, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rabeya Akter, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Fazlul Hoque. Different schools and colleges participated this fair.
