Female hundi trader held in Benapole

Benapole Custom Intelligent arrested a female hundi trader along with $ 20,000 from Benapole International checkpost on Thursday noon. Assistant Commissioner of Benapole Customs Intelligence Trpti Roy said, a passport passenger from India entering to Bangladesh with huge amount of foreign currency. Later, custom intelligent arrest the woman and searched her body and recovered $ 20,000 and two mobile sets from her possession . The arrested Lyli Khatun 25 daughter of Abdur Rahman of Shibchar upazila in Madaripur district. The seized dollars and mobile phones were deposited to customs go down. She is a international Hundi trader intelligent aded. A case has been registered with Benapole Port Police Station.
3 dredging machines seized in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ: A mobile court seized three dredging machines used for illegal sand lifting in Dhaleshwari River in Saturia upazila on Tuesday. The mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate and Saturia Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashraful Alam, conducted a drive in the river and seized three dredgers. The sand lifters fled the site before the mobile court arrived. Later, the local administration set fire to the three dredging machines, reports UNB.
Youth arrested with gold in Satkhira
SATKHIRA: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a young man with 500 grams of gold from Bhomra border in the Sadar upazila on Wednesday. The arrestee was identified as Sajib Hossain, 30, son of Rafiqul Islam of Laxmidari village in the upazila. Tipped off, a team of BGB conducted a drive in the area and arrested Sajib along with the gold while crossing the border, said Nayek Subedar Harun-or-Rashid, reports UNB.
Woman held with drugs in Hatia
NOAKHALI: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) in a drive arrested a woman drug trader from Hatia upazila of the district on Friday. The arrested was identified as Monju Rani Das, 28, a resident of Dasherhat village in the upazila.Sta tion Officer of the BCG Lieutenant Mehedi Hassan said on information they conducted a raid in Monju Rani’s house and nabbed her with 118 pieces of contraband yaba tablets. The Coast Guard members also seized a mobile phone and cash Tk 15,000 from her possession.A case was filed under Narcotics Control Act in this connection, reports UNB.
