One electrocuted in Kurigram

One man was electrocuted and other one was injured with electric shock at Gharialdanga union under Rajarhat upazila of the district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Makbul Hossen, 50, son of late Abdul Majid of Gatiasham village of Gharialdanga union under the Rajarhat upazila.The injured was Nazrul Islam, 54, son of late Bachchu Mamud of the Gatiasham village.Shahidul Islam, the concerned ward member of Gharialdanga union parishad, said,,Makbul was cutting bamboo in his bamboo cluster near his home at around 2:30 pm. He was electrocuted in the cluster while the bamboo fell on a necked electric wire of rural electric supply lines. Nazrul was injured with electric shock while he touched Makbul to rescue him.Later locals rescued both. Makbul died on the spot while Nazrul injured seriously. Nazrul was sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, the ward member said. Krisna Chandra Sarker, Officer-in-chargeO.C)of Rajarhat police station, admitted the electrocuted incident.
Training on soft skills to marginal people begins at Gopalganj

 A 3- day long training programme on soft skills to marginal people at Gopalganj Sadar in the district began on Thursday.  Social welfare Department, Gopalganj Sadar organis ed the programme. A total of 50 marginal people in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila area got training on the develop of economic life style. After training they got (50) total tk. 60,000/-. Each of them got tk. 1200. Like black smith, tanner, barber, cane & bamboo maker, fishermen, with horizon community attended the three days long programme. Mohammad Sadikur Rahman Khan, Upzilla Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Gopalganj Sadar, presided over the programme . Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Bacchu, Upazilla Chairman, Gopalganj Sadar was present as Chief Guest. Among others , Md. Mahabubul Alam, Assistant Commissioner (Land), Gopalganj Somir Mollik, Deputy Director, Zilla Social Welfare Office, Gopalanj, Mrs. Nirunnahar, Female Vice Chairman, Upazill Porishod, Gopalganj Sadar, Nitish Roy, Vice Chaiman, Upazilla Parishad, Gopalganj Sadar & Sultana Zahid Parvin, Upazilla, Social Welfare officer, Gopalganj Sader were spoken on the beginning day.
Child killed, 3 injured in Chandpur road accident

A head-on collision occurred between an auto-rickshaw and a pick up van on Mission Road More in front of Shahi Jamey Mosque in the district town left a small boy dead and his mother and two others injured. The dead and the injured were passengers of auto rickshaw that was going to Noakhali from Chandpur launch ghat in the morning on last Monday. The deceased small boy was identified as Nazmul Hasan,7, son of Nasima Begum,23, undergoing treatment at Chandpur General Hospital. She is wife of Chand Mia’s son Abdul Kader of Betagi Upazila of Barguna district. The victim’s grandfather injured Chand Mia,55, has told the New Nation that he along with his grandson Nazmul and his daughter in law Nasima was going to Noakhali by this auto rickshaw from Chandpur launch ghat after they had reached by a launch at the ghat from Barishal early in the morning.
