Girl commits suicide in Barishal

Khadiza Akhtar, 18, daughter of Mizan Bepari of Vuterdia under Babuganj upazila of the district and a student of first year HSC of Babuganj College, committed suicide by hanging herself from rooftop on early Friday. Family members fixed Friday as date for giving marriage of Khadiza without her consent with another man instead of her lover. This make Khadiza sentimental and hanging herself with scarf from rooftop she committed suicide on early Friday. At that time her mother Shahida Begum was out of home to invite the relative about her marriage. Police recovering the dead body sent to Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue after lodging a case of unnatural death on Friday noon, confirming the facts said Abdur Rahman, officer in charge (investigation) of Babuganj police station.
Tk 35,000 fined for selling sexual stimulants pills

Mobile court led by Executive Magistrate ATM Kamrul Islam fined Tk 35,000 for selling sexual stimulants pills in Bogura on Thursday. Drug Superintendent Ahsan Habib and Armed Police Battalion (APBN) members took part in the drive in secrete information. The fined business houses were Ekata Medicine corner, Rural Pharmacy and Momin Pharmacy in the town.
One held with rectified spirit in Rangpur
RANGPUR: The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) seized 1,850 bottles of rectified spirit and arrested a presumed drug trader from different places in the district on Thursday night. “We had a secret information that some drug peddlers were carrying rectified spirit on a Rangpur-bound passenger coach from Dhaka,” Deputy Director of DNC for Rangpur Md. Masud Rana told BSS.Accordingly, a special DNC team led by Masud Rana went to a place near the Fire Service and Civil Defense Station in the city and waited for arrival of the passenger coach there. “Soon after arrival of the coach there in the evening, we conducted a raid and arrested one person in possession of the rectified spirit,” Rana added. “Based on his statement, we conducted another raid at Gopalpur village in Badarganj upazila of Rangpur and arrested owner of the seized rectified spirit and presumed drug trader Harun, 50, of the same village at night,” he said. After filing a case in this connection under section 36 of the Narcotics Control Act-2018, the DNC officials handed over arrested Harun to Kotwali Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, Rana added, reports BSS.
School boy electrocuted in Chitalmari

A school boy named Sirajul (11), son of one Hafez Zakaria of village Chingata under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was electrocuted in his dwelling house on Wednesday noon. It is learnt from the police and the members of the affected family that at the noon the ill-fated boys was trying to put a plug into a socket of an electricity line he was, somehow, electrocuted. The boy was rushed to Tungipara Health Complex (in Gopalganj district) where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
