Reception to students in Baraigram

Some 75 meritorious students of SSC Exam were accorded a reception on Thursday by Ramagari High School. Chairperson of the school Managing Committee Md Zillur Rahman presided over the meeting. Principal of the Bonpara S.R Patwary Quality Educare Institute Mr Gourpada Mondol was present as a chief guest in the meeting. It was also addressed among others by the Heasmaster Abdul Halim, Assistant teacher Aftab Uddin, students Moyna Khatun and Kausar Ali. The chief guest and the headmaster gave away a crest and a flower stick to each meritorious student. A dacoity was committed at Koyen in Baraigram upazila on Natore- Pabna Higwway at on Friday . Robbers made barricade keeping trees on the road and looted cash and goods . A cover van (Bogra-M- 8431) of Bangladesh Postal Department fell into a road side canal when the driver Mamunur Rashid tried to escape with his vehicle from attacking of robbers. Seeing the action of robbers to a truck, Rashid tried to turn back but failed. Then robbers attacked Rashid and his two companions. They looted 16 thousand taka from them. But they did not took postal goods. I.C Krishno Mohon of Bonpara Police Tadantra Kendra says , in this connection a case will be filed but it is under process.
Drama festival, poetry recitation programme end

The four-day joint festival of staging drama and reciting poetry ended in Barisal on Friday calling for flourishing native culture preventing cultural invasion. The programme was arranged to mark the 35th founding anniversary of drama-cultural organization Barisal Natak and 30th founding anniversary of recitation practicing organization Barisal Abritti Charcha Kendra at Ashwini Kumar Hall in the city. The festival on was ended on Friday night by staging drama Nil Moiurer Jubon by Shabdaboli Group Theatre of Barisal at Aswni Kumar Hall and recitation of poetry presented by noted reciters. A day long get-together festival of the activists of participant organiztions and cultural personalities also held at Jagadish Saraswat Girls School and accorded reception to noted cultural personality of the city Manabendra Batobayal. The closing ceremony of the festival was presided over by Azmal Hosen Labu, president of Barisal Natak and festival organizing committee. It was addressed among others by Palash Bala Manik, secretary Barisal Natak and festival organizing committee, Dipankar Chakraborty, noted literary personality, Ananta Hira, dramatist, Manabendra Batobayal, cultural personality.
Sarawati Puja observed in Moulvibazar

Saraswati Puja, a religious event of the Hindu community was celebrated across in the Moulvibazar on Thursday. With traditional gaiety and spirit of pursuit of art and knowledge which Goddess Saraswati provides The Hindus worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture, on the Vasant Panchami day with pomp every year mostly in educational institutions, where the students seek the blessings of Saraswati.Saraswati, a mythological companion of Lord Brahma, is the personification of knowledge “arts, science and crafts. She represents power, creativity and inspiration and presents herself when the weather is pleasant and nature is in its full grandeur. Depicted as a graceful woman with a crescent moon adorning her brow, she is shown riding a swan or a peacock, or is seated on a lotus flower. On this day, children are also imparted their first lessons in reading and writing.
