District Administration hosts Iftar party in Rangpur
RANGPUR: The district administration organised an Iftar party and discussion highlighting importance of the holy month of Ramadan at Rangpur Circuit House in the city on Wednesday evening. Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Joynul Bari attended the discussion as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib in the chair. Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya, Rangpur Metropolitna Police Commissioner Md. Abdul Alim Mahmud, Commnadeing Officer of RAB_13 Md. Mzammel Haque, Police Super Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Ditrector (Local Goverent) Ruhul Amin Mian, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Syed Enamul Kabir, General Secretary of district Awami League Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu, its Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahmna Tutul, Presdent of Rangpur CXHmaber of Commerce and Industry Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu, among others, attended the programme. Besides, high ranking divisional and district level government offices and institutions, freedom fighters, political leaders, leaders of business bodies, socio-cultural activists and civil society members were present. Khatib of Rangpur Court Jam-e-Mosque Alhaj Moulana Md. Hafizul Islam took part in the discussion titled ‘Mahe Ramadan and Our Roles’ as the main discussant., reports BSS.
Coast Guard seizes fish fries worth Tk 80 lakh
KHULNA: A special team of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Khulna West Zone seized around 40 lakh fish fries worth around Tk 80 lakh from Khanjahan Ali Bridge area under Rupsha upazila in Khulna Tuesday afternoon. Based on secret information, a team of Rupsha BCG of Khulna West Zone conducted a drive in the Rupsha River around 4 pm yesterday and seized the fish fries, said a press release today issued by BCG West Zone operation Officer Lieutenant Imtiaz Alam. The BCG men also seized an engine-run boat along with fish fries. The recovered fish fries were released into the Rupsha River water in presence of Upazila Fisheries Officers. Meanwhile, member of BCG of Kaikhali Station under the West Zone conducted a drive near Keoratoli canal under Shyamnagar upazila in Satkhira last night and seized nine Indian cows worth about Taka 6,40,000 and an engine-run boat. The recovered goods were handed over to Shyamnagar Police Station for legal action, said the press release, reports BSS.
