Bagerhat
The 50th Victory Day, the most precious day of the Bangalee people, as well as of the country was liberated from the Pakistani occupation on the day 50 years back after a nine-month-long bloodstained War of Liberation was celebrated in Bagerhat district town and it’s all the nine Upazilas on Thursday through various programme, huge enthusiasms and festivity. The day’s programme was heralded with 50 gun salutes. With the sun rise the national flag was hoisted atop all the public and private buildings of the district town. It was followed with placing of floral wreaths on Muktijoddha Shahid Minar, situated at Dashanir Mor. Floral wreath was ceremonially placed by Mohammad Azizur Rahman, DC, Bagerhat on the Shaid Minar on behalf of Bagerhat district administration while the floral wreath was placed by K M Ariful Haq, Police Super of Bagerhat on behalf of Bagerhat district police administration. Floral wreaths were also placed by Bagerhat district Awami League and its all the front organizations, BNP, Jatio Party, Bagerhat Bar Association, Bagerhat Press Club, different educational institutions and socio-cultural organizations. March-past along with physical displays by Police, Ansars, VDP, BNCC, Scouts, Girls’ guide and students was held in the local Sheikh Hela Uddin stadium. Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat hoisted the national flag in the ceremony and took the salute from them as the chief guest
A reception ceremony was arranged in the local the sane venue in honour of the freedom fighters and the members of those freedom fighters who dedicated their lives in the War of Liberation. A meeting was also held there for the discussion on the significance of the day.
The day’s programme was also included supply of improved diets to prisoners in the jail, patients in the hospitals and the orphans in the orphanages, offering the special prayers in the mosques, temples and churches for the salvation of the departed souls of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War of 1971.

Chitalmari
Like elsewhere of the country, the Golden Jubilee of Independence and the Victory Day of the Mujib Year have been celebrated in Chitalmari with due dignity.
 The great Victory Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the participation of Upazila Parishad Chairman, Vice Chairmen, Upazila Awami League and leaders of all its allies and of fraternal organizations, heroic freedom fighters, students of various educational institutions and people of all walks of life. .
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saiyada Faizunnesa presided over the colorful function of the Victory Day while Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashok Kumar Baral was present as the chief guest.
The event was held at 9:15 am at the grounds adjacent to local Faizul Haque Government Primary School and Chitalmari HB Girls High School. Chitalmari Thana Police, Ansar-VDP, Rover Scouts, Girl Guides and students from different educational institutions participated in parades & displays. Women’s sports competitions, Liberation War based film exhibitions, kabaddi competitions, swearing in ceremonies by the Prime Minister and exhibiting football competitions were also held.
Lighting, pleasant cultural programs and discussion meetings were held in the evening on the occasion of Great Victory Day.

Gouripur
The great Victory Day was celebrated in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district amid enthusiasm on December16, 2021. The beginning of the Victory Day started with a 50-gun salute soon after the sun rises.
Freedom Fighter Nazim Uddin Ahmed, MP , Upazila Chairman Mofazzal Hossain khan, Hasan Maruf ,UNO of Gouripur Upazila, Syed Rafiqul Islam, Mayor of Gouripur Pourashava and other officials of the upazila administration and the police department placed floral wreaths on the monument Bijoy-71 at Bangabandhu Chattar of the upazila town.
People from all walks of life and activists of political, cultural and professional organisations, institutions and. clubs, such as Gouripur Pourashava, Gouripur Press Club, Gouripur Sangbadik Oikkay Forum, Gouripur Reporters Club, Gouripur Govt. College, Gouripur Women College, Govt. Technical School and College, Gouripur R.K.Govt. High school, Gouripur Pilot Girls High School, Nurul Amin Khan High School, Chader Hat Agradut Niketon, Govt.Textile Vocational Institute also placed floral wreaths at the monument Bijoy-71 and paid homage to the war heroes.
Around 9:10 am upazila administration organized a colorful march-past at Gouripur Stadium with participation of police, ansar-VDP, BNCC, scouts, girls guide, school, college and madrasa students and members of different clubs, and cultural organizations.
 Freedom Fighter Alhaj Nazim Uddin Ahmed, Lawmaker of Mymensingh-3 (Gouripur) accompanied by Upazila Chairman Mofazzal Hossain khan , Hasan Maruf, UNO of Gouripur Upazila and OC of Gouripur Thana hoisted national flag at the ceremony and took salute of the march-past as the chief guest.
A doa was offered for eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and Liberation war martyrs
The ruling Bangladesh Awami League of Gouripur upazila unit chalked out an elaborate programme to observe the Victory Day. Besides, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jatiya Party, National Awami Party (NAP) and other political parties and their associate bodies of this upazila drew up various programmes to mark the Victory Day.
