World Orphans Day observed in Khulna

The World Orphans Day was observed in Khulna amid festivity on April 20. The function was arranged by World Wide OrganiSation for charity (WOC) , Khulna Team. A group of young campus Ambassadors of English Olympiad (EO), country representatives and volunteers in Khulna Division under the platform called WOC, previously known as World Orphan Centre. Mohammad Amanullah, the founder of WOC inspired the young guys to do works for the orphans. In 130 countries of the world this organization has been conducting its benevolent works for the children who have no parents and who are underprivileged ones. Shahida Ferdous, Sadman Iqtader, Shhajabin Sakhawat, Mourita Parvin Ritu and Md. Wasiul spoke in the discussion meeting marking the day. In their speeches the discussants told that they are firmly determined to draw the attention to the sufferings of orphans and underprivileged children in a effort to make nations take better care of their children. The discussants further said, tragically, millions of children all over the world have become orphaned due to some reasons such as war, famine, displacement, diseases or poverty. To make sure that they are not forgotten, an special day was dedicated for them and that day is 20 April.
Innovation Showcasing begins in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: A two-day ‘Innovation Showcasing began at Rajshahi College Auditorium on Friday with the main thrust of making the existing service delivery related innovations popular among the public in general. Ministry of Public Administration and Commissioner Office of Rajshahi division jointly organised the divisional level event. More than 30 district and upazila level offices and institutions from all eight districts under the division set 30 stalls showcasing various information and documents related to public service delivery and necessary process of getting those easily after the best uses of information and communication technologies. Secretary to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division Ziaul Alam addressed the opening session as the chief guest with Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman in the chair. Director of A2i Project Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Divisional Commissioner Zakir Hossain, Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader and Principal of Rajshahi College Professor Habibur Rahman also spoke on the occasion, reports BSS.
