2 held with phensidyl in Satkhira

Police arrested two people along with 1400 bottles of phensidyl from a truck at Nauapara Dhalbaria in Talaupazila on Friday. The arrestees are Rezaul Karim Babu, a truck driver and his helper Shafiqul Islam. Tipped off, a team of police intercepted an onion-laden truck while heading towards Dhaka from Bhomra land port and seized 1400 bottles of phensidyl, kept tactfully under the onions and arrested the duo, said assistant superintendent of Police (Tala circle) HumayunKabir.
4 arrested with Yaba at Gafargaon

 Police arrested four drug peddlers including an UP member at Gafargaon under Mymensingh with 16 piece Yaba from their possessions on Friday afternoon. The arrestee have been sent into jail. Police said, on the basis of secret information they raided house of Kancheon Mia of Lawtail village of Rawna Union in Gafargaon Upazila on Friday morning and have arrested 4 with Yaba Tab. during selling it. The arrestee are Shihab Uddin UP Member son of Mutaleb Mea man of Rawna village, Sajib Mea of Deegha village, Ajijul Haque of Lawtoil village and Joynal Abedin of Shimulia of Gajipur, Tongi. Monirul Islam Deputy Police Inspector (Investigation) of Gafargaon Thana said, arrsetested them wit Narcotic case and sent them to Mymensingh Jail.
Ride sharing service launched at RU

A ride sharing service has been launched at Rajshahi University to make the students’ communication easier on the campus. The three youths of the university are planners of the services. They are- Masud Parvez of Zoology and Mining, Saju Mia and Mazharul of Bangla. Among the planners, Masud Parvez said, we will provide the services to the students through a Scooty at first. Then we will expand the services in future if positive response could have been received. The university’s students will get the opportunities of the services paying only of Taka 10 and they can move anywhere of the campus easily, also said Masud.
Drug trader jailed for 10 yrs in Chandpur

A court in Chandpur sentenced a drug trader to suffer imprisonment for ten years on charge of drug trading on Tuesday afternoon. The condemned criminal is Mostafa Kamal, 30, ( son of Ahammad Kabir), a resident of Fayer Beel village in Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. He is still fugitive. He was tried in absentia-said Public Prosecutor Advocate Md Amanullah. According to the case statement , in brief, Faridganj Thana Police, on 2 June ,2015, detained convict Mostafa Kamal and recovered from his possession 1985 pieces of yaba from a tea -shop at Faridganj Bus Stand. Mostafa’s motive was to sell these yabas to the drug peddlers there. In this connection, a case under Narcotics Control Act was filed with Faridganj Thana the same day.
Youth held over HSC question leaks in Rangpur
RANGPUR : Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained a youth for leaking fake question papers of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examinations from Nagirdah area in Kaunia upazila on Monday night. The arrestee is Azizul Islam, 15, son of Mostafizar Rahman of the area. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Azizul at night, said RAB-13 assistant director and media wing officer AAM Imran Khan. Azizul confessed his involvement in handling fake question papers of the ongoing HSC examinations, reports UNB.
