Bus set on fire in Jessore

Unidentified miscreants set a bus on fire at Dhaka Bridge area under of Barandipara in Jessore town at around 10:30pm on Tuesday. The bus was on parking, said locals and police. Shahinur Rahman, sub inspector, Kotwali police station told New Nation that a bus was burnt to ashes as unidentified miscreants set a standing bus on fire at around 10:30pm on Tuesday. Fire men took the doused the fire after half an hour of labour.
Warm clothes distributed among cold hits in Dupchanchia

Some 50 pieces of warm clothes were distributed in Dupchanchia Press Club premises among the poor cold affected persons with the assistance of Islami Bank of Dupchanchia branch of Bogra on Wednesday. The distribution function was presided over by Branch Manager Mahfuzul Karim while Mayor Belal Hossain was spoke as a Chief Guest in the function. Newly elected ward councilor S M Kaikobad, Journalist Emdadul Haque, Anisul Islam Liton, Abu Abdullah Prince, Akhtaruzzaman Tuhin, Moyen Khan, Belal Hossain, Abu Raihan, Ramen Podder, Toufiq Alam, Pabon Kumar and Baharam Hossian spoke among others in the function.

Monirampur Press Club EC member Asaduzzaman Royal was injured by terrorists on Tuesdau. He came under attack when he was coming to his office from home on at about 10 am on Tuesday . According to the witness , led by terrorist Abdur Rahman and 5/6 others went his house and hindered his way . Sensing on an information officer- in -charge of Monirampur police went to the spot with force and rescued and admitted him at Monirampur Hospital. Receiving the news from a source Upazila Parishad chairman Amzad Hosen Lavlu went to the Hospital and inquired about his treatment. On the other hand, AL. Upazila President principal Kazi Mahamudul Hasan and Pourashava Mayor Shahid Iqbal Hosen slated and protested the unlawful activity of the terrorists.
Art exchange programme begins in Barisal

A week-long residential art exchange programme participated by artists from different sectors of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh is going on at historical and abandoned Lakhutia Zamindar House premises in Barisal. It was started at that venue from Friday last. Visual and performing artists, painters, photographers, writers, musicians named Aditi Gupta(architect and art history researcher) , Sisir Thapa ( modern contemporary installations expert ) from India, Hamida Khatri ( painter and puppet figure creator) from Pakistan, Tasmin Chowdhury (contemporary textile design installer and art director) , Farhad Rahman, Fahad al Alam( photographers) , Shahriar Shihab ( poet and writer), Nazim Uddin Khan (researcher and wild life photographer ), Chandra Sukhen (painter) Ali Asgor Nayon ( print making and performing artist) from Bangladesh participating at this programme to bring out some aesthetical expressions of the venue.
